I regret to inform you that the AMD processors running the program are kicking the Intel's ass as far as I can see. Maybe I should give the AMD more credit. Good luck guys.

With a XP2800 @ 2.1 ghz I can get about 110 - 120 canidates (D2OL or TSC) a day. Not sure how that compares to a similar speed Intel.

The Intel 2.8 versus XP2800 you say 100-110 a day well its 8:22 central time and the 2.8 intel has done 103 so far.

I said 110 - 120. With 103, you should be at 120 + or - as well, so pretty close (I say 11:00 CST, because that is when they reset). Still pretty good since I am only 2.1ghz and you are 2.8ghz.

my Opteron 240 (single) 256Mb of ram WINDOWS XP SP1 PRO* can crank out at least 90 a day for sure, probally 100 if i didn't use it at all...

I'm not trying to knock on you matrix, but do you think that the Opteron was really worth the 300+ dollars? The only reason I ask is because I only paid like 100 bucks for the XP2700.

Performance wise, it doesn't seem logical to pay 300 dollars for something that can't outperform a 100 dollar item. Granted you can add another chip, but thats another 300 bucks still.

How does everyone else feel?

Jeff, I have the XP2800 333 Barton, and have multiplier at 12.5 (Highest I can set) and FSB at 170 (340). What is your FSB at and do you have to do any extra cooling, etc. I have DDR400 so that should allow me to clock higher.

MY 2800+ was the first 2800 that came out. It is thoroughbred. It it not barton. It is not overclocked whatsoever.

My FSB is 333 x Multiplier of 13.5 = 2.25 GHz

Forgot about that. I was thinking that the Barton was the 1st with 333mhz though. What is the difference between the 2 then, on-chip cache?

They don't even list this processor. I think NewEgg was one of the few that actually got this processor. But, to answer your question, I believe the Barton CPUs have 2x the L2Cache.

Wholly crap! Haven't ran d2ol in awhile but would get on average 125 a day. Tasks must take longer or can windows suck that bad?

hmmm, LINUX is faster, though the screen turns black automatically without scrensaver ENABLED after 10 min's or so, have any ideas??? Seems to slow down d2ol when this happens. Otherwise i would have alot more packets b'cause linux is so much faster, yes, WINDOWS can suck that much

it's eithier the blank screensaver or the display power management. In the dark if it's the screensaver screen would glow and if it's the power management screen will be completely black which I prefer to a screensaver eithier way if a blank screen is slowing down cpu maybe you have both running. I would disable screensavers and set monitor to shut off after whatever time you decide only thing I can say good about the screensaver is it could be used as a security measure since it could be set to require a password.
