Does anyone have an idea when HP will be releasing 64 bit drivers for their printers, or has Canon or Epson released 64 bit drivers?

don't know about the manufacturers web sites.
you could try checking through each of them.

However, if you are running windows, try this page:

planetamd64.com has a thread on HP printers and a list in the drivers forum of which printers and scanners are working for users.

hope this helps

Currently, HP lists only a work around for their lack of 64 bit drivers. Given that I relaibly run out of memory when working with photos, I really need to switch to XP 64, but without the complete driver set...

I ran X64 on my A8N-E , I do a fair amount of video work and still waiting for VIVO drivers even beta ones to use, I don't like the idea of mixing ATI with a Nvidia chipset, X64 is faster in alot of ways but just not ready for prime time til the drivers are supported fully by the manufactures. :(

rrcrain how much memory do you have? it may be worth you looking at faster (e.g 400 rather than 333) or dual channel.
what size photos do you work with? and what do you mean by run out? - just slow or crashing.

I've a gig of RAM on a single stick. Unfortunately, in spite of what the motherboard maker advertises, it can't handle 2 1 gig modules. Sadly, Windows also has an upper memory limit, which I've run into. Windows 64 would solve this to a degree as it would allocate more memory to the 32 bit graphics program. The ultimate answer will come when Paint Shop Pro comes out in 64 bit, the 64 bit drivers are out, and I have Windows XP 64 installed.

Faster memory won't help as Paintshop Pro flat out runs out of memory.

the A8N-E, using DDR 400 OCZ CL 2-3-2-6 (2x512) ram dual channel matched pairs not worth a dam o/c but runs stable at +10% using Adobe CS2, having set the scratch drive to a seperate 5gig partition (inner sectors) on a SATA 80gig Seagate eliminated my running out of ram using Photoshop, total page is (min/max)1536 Sandra says the mem bandwidth is average over several test 5000/5000 not bad for non ECC ram, using 2x36gig raptors raid0 for main,

in short depending on your mobo dual channel is worth it and also using a seperate drive for your page/scratch

I take it that you have an extra 1 gig stick, I know with the 'A8N-E that you use Dim01 Dim03 for 2 sticks...make sure your mobo dosn't do the same.

My mobo isn't a dual channel or 939, so thats not an issue and I actually have the page file on a 315 gig RAID partition. I simply run into the limits of the 32 bit app and 32 bit OS.

cant say i have used PSP - only at friends. but i have some large pictures and done some extensive work but in fireworks/ photoshop never run out.

So i dont know if it is just that application or you are using memory amounts way above i have ever reached. I will take this into account when looking at new graphics programs though.

I generally scan the photos and slides at the maximum DPI I can get away with resulting in some rather massive files; 200Meg and up for JPEG.
