I have my machine (32 bit) AMD XP 3200+, ASRock K7S8XE+ and Sata HD with a GeForce FX 5200.

My graphics in some of the latest games however are a litle shaky. My board will not take PCI-E :(, only AGP or standard PCI.

Is it worth an upgrade or will the difference be fairly minimal? If i do upgrad what should i get? - i am happy to go with either ATI or Nvidia.

Price - as cheap as possible! But i want good power for what i pay, so that the difference is noticable.

Oli, try looking at the Sapphire ATI Radeon X700.

It's got 256 meg 128 bit DDR memory.

Comes in at £75 inc vat at novatech.com.

x700 pro is pretty good, but there are also other alternatives to that.

this has a bunch of 6600 gts and an x700 pro pitted against each other.

id say the best choice for a graphics card right now is an x800 xl or a
6800 gt, they both offer great perfomance for the price.

PCI Express isn't worth it unless you are looking for future upgradeability.

As for video cards I would get an X800 XL since they are extremely fast and just a downclocked X800 XT. They have them at a local store for $260 U.S.
