Just to let you know that we've hit 250,000,000 (thats 250 mln) on AMD Users team, which is very good indeed. Unfortunatly Free-DC and X Grubbers are still whipping our butts every day and i would imagine we will lose our 1st place in the next few weeks/months.

Those guys have some really powerful net connections

But let's not go down without a fight people! They might have bigger "weapons" than us but we outnumber them by alot! :)

Evil-Dragon, you're close to hitting another grand milestone yourself. You're very close to 150,000,000. :)

I am peddling as fast as I can without blowing my useage limit. I am monitoring it daily at the moment.

> Data Used 52%
> Off Peak Used 40%
> Days Elapsed 58%

If my off-peak catches up I'll have to throttle it all back to the equivalent of a modem.

In less than 1 day PCZ has pushed out more than my total allowance for an entire year

What can I say - Usage Limits suck.

What project are you referring to? My days are numbered with high speed internet access, so lets make it count.

Hi Richard.
It is Majestic-12

Hey

First: we joined this project and the beginning was very positive
Second: many joined us, church for a while
Third: some of them as joined us was a butterfly
Fifth: many members stop run these work units
Six: only a few are crunching every day
Seventh: many have a bandwidth limit set from their ISP and a slow speed and could not contribute.
Eight: due to above, the project was wrong
Ninth: many know we were running this project but didn’t try it.
Tenth: The sum of above is with a word: an unsuccessful try.

I can’t understand how we can lose our rank to 3 guys from FreeDC. I know a guy use 5 computers simultaneous to this project and we everybody perhaps use one. Also peoples from the USA seem to have high speed bandwidth. We should really be fighting using toot and nails but I imagine no one will do that. It is better lose the rank and go from 1 to 3 or 4th rank. Right now there are 7 of 22 members crunching Majestic-12. Evil-Dragon and bwhite as have done so great results isn’t there fighting. I have run this project every evening but I can’t get the same results as from when I first time ran it.

I assume it is OK and everything is as it should be? I’m of source a little ironic. But, I must say I’m a little mad. I have used my computer to crunch and I got a feeling it is in vain because when we lose our rank, whish will continue to run it?

I say we should not give up. It would probably take them 5 days to crush us if we stopped. But it'll take at least 6 if we keep fighting. So, even if they keep up that huge pace, I say we oughta make them sweat one more day and keep going the best we can too! :)

As for using several computers...(and unless they all have separate net connections) It's only good if one has such a super-fast internet connection that MJ-12 couldn't make full use of it on one computer. I can't imagine how much that would be in terms of bandwidth speed because for faster connections one can always increase the number of workers accordingly and push more and more. Is there a limit to the number of workers in MJ-12?

A word of warning, i've stopped crawling for a day or two (as soon as my downloads finish then i will be back to crawling) and i know this is dropping the team down a few places daily but then i have been crawling for the last few months without a rest bite (well except for when i took part in the AA419 flashmob)

Another warning, we're planning to move house soon. It will probably be early next year (Jan 5th) and i won't have internet for about 2 weeks i recoken. So my crawling will be nill, other than Jane's computer crawling about 10,000 - 100,000 a day.

If anything we'll be taken over about then when i move.

Sorry guys (and gals)

THis project taks so little of my two machines CPU time that I'm restarting up SOB and plan to let both run. I've had Majectic12 running for 20 hours now on two machines.

Yea, you can run MJ12 with anything else cpu intensive. MJ12 only needs cpu when it comes to the barrel archiving part. If you run it along with other projects, MJ12 has higher priority settings, so will take over the cpu for a few minutes everytime it needs to archive a barrel and then let go for anything else that needs it.

I hit my 150 million target!

Plus on the other front we are nearly at 300 million for the team, this is brilliant news!!

Next target Evil-Dragon... 200,000,000!

And for us, a good target could be keeping our first rank at least until the end of the year! Let's do it people! :)
