I have a dual processor machine that I could use, but it does not have direct internet access. I would have to bounce the signal from it to another computer that does have access and then through a proxy authentication. Is there a way to do this using the free proxy? Or is two proxies too much?

Since no one answers I'm gonna throw a shot in the dark... :P

My hunch is that no matter how many proxies you go through, if you can get internet connection to that computer, you can run anything. Just watch the settings you use and replicate them to the programs that need them.

And if you can't get connection there, there's plenty of DC projects that don't need dedicated net connection. Take Prime Sierpisnky for example, you can register at their forums, reserve workunits, crunch them on the pc without net and email the results sometime later when you're done.

Like the old saying goes... if there's a will, there's a way :)

Interesting:

What OS's are you using?

I think you can run 2 proxies (well you can with squid) if you wanted, you have to config each proxy so they know about each other.
