I'm guessing most people here are pretty interested in stats. This is a great website for tracking your music listening habbits. You download plugins for various media players, and it tracks what you listen to. I have created a group for anyone interested, so in adition to your own listening stats, it will keep track of the team's as well.

There is also a pretty nice streaming radio that goes along with the site.
Just thought some of you may be interested.

I found that it had a plug-in for winamp so I'll give it a spin. :)
EDIT:
Someone had already taken "NeoGen" :-( so I'm NeoGenAMD.

Yeah, they have plugins for the major media players

I have learned alot about my own listening habits by looking at all the different charts available, and the radio is a good feature when away from home.

I'm slowly building up my list. :)
This is also good to see how our mp3's are most of the times badly tagged. I've caught myself correcting errors in songs tags so that they show up allright on the site after played...

That did bug me at first too, until I head about this program called musicbrainz. It will scan your music and corrects many mistagged files. I found it very useful.

I'm trying it now.
It's still processing, but geez... almost half of my mp3's appear as "Unidentified".
And two files already errored out. Saying "Error: Cannot decode file (Decoder crashed)"

just set it up and it looks quite good.
i use "Flash Renamer v4.71" to rename my tracks. It will chage it where you rip it from disk and then later decide you dont want the name or something in the song e.g. tracknum - artist - album - year of release to whatever you specify e.g. remove artist.

You have not got any neighbours yet. Neighbours are auto-generated after you've listened to about 300 tracks.
This won't be a problem, but it will take a bit of time! :P

Joined a few hours ago. Sounds interesting. And thanks for the link to musizbrainz, Kooonsty.
EDIT: Is musicbrainz smart enough to correctly tag the music? I have lots and don't want much to be mistagged.

I'm pretty sure it didnt mistag any of my music, if there is too much of a question about the file, I think it is just skipped over.

I got way too many unidentified tracks (with TMR collisions) when I first set it to crawl all of my media partition.
So now I'm using it in a more controlled manner. I'm just loading an album or two each time, let it identify those tracks, check if everything is allright and then let it tag.
It takes a bit more time for the whole collection, but this way I'm sure I will not let anything get mistaged.

Thats what I do. I seemed to have a problem after I set up renaming my MP3s. My Need for Speed: Most Wanted soundtrack won't rename with the track #'s. Guess I'll have to do that manually.
Everything else is fine.

That sounds like a good idea, I think one of these days I am going to have to take the extra time to get it all right.

Strange, it doesn't seem to be able to connect to the server anymore today. :?
It keeps trying to handshake, but always comes out UNREADABLE under last response.

The system isnt perfect, as few are, thats what the cashing is for. All your songs will eventually get sent out when the server comes back.

Hey... last fm has got a small forum there too! I thought it would be a global thing but no, it's just inside our team. :)

It sure does:)
I didnt think we would use it all that much because we have these nice forums, but i created it anyways because we had nothing to lose. there is also a global forum about the website and everything. The link its toward the upper right.

If I put another sig in. Vaughan and spjeff are gonna kill me. My BOINC is one just as big, or maybe even bigger than that. :P

That's why I stopped using Bok's stats sig. There are so many projects now it took up too much room.

Is my sig too big???
I like seeing all my scores at a glance... I don't even look at Bok's stats anymore...

haha, it is quite a bit of orange. I figured I would go for some school spirit on account of March madness. I will probably tone it down after.
GO ILLINI!! :hello1:

I managed to get a smaller one to not cram my sig space too much. :)
Even smaller, it's still bigger than my project stats image.
EDIT: Now I've found an even smaller. Now it's ok! :)

I figured I should probably pick a less scary sig chart. I hope this one is alot easier on the eyes:)
