Got the BOINC thing all working now apart from one minor thing :(

I have 1 project which is the climate change thing and i have 2 tasks. One is all working fine and the other one was ready to start.

I say was ready to start..... I clicked abort hoping that the 2nd task would go away and now its still there just said aborted by user in the status box.

Is there any way to clear it away without losing the task that my computer is actually working on?

Cheers

Usually that goes away with exiting and restarting the boinc manager. But exiting really, not closing it and leaving it on the system tray (area near the clock with all those icons...)

To prevent from happening again, you should set BBC to not get new tasks. There's a button on the boinc manager for that also.

You know that theory people say that things only exist because you believe they exist?
Well... stop thinking that it's there, don't look at it no more, and it will disappear!

Try also clicking on the update button a couple of times, or before/after restarting boinc... something has to work! We just gotta find what...

Rebooting the computer usually fixes alot of problems too. But it's a last choice. (At least for those of us running the Uptime project :P) I guess you could try that also if all else fails...

For that there's...
Seti@Home (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/) (told you about it before... it's for finding aliens)

Einstein@Home (http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/) (mix of Astronomy and physics)

Both boinc projects. :)
