claimed and granted credits?

This might sound really thick but can anyone explain what claimed credits and granted credits are in Einstein@home?

When a computer reports a Result, it claims a certain amount of Credit, based on how much CPU Time was used.

Thats where the benchmarks come in :)

Now for Einstein..there's 3 of the same WU sent to everyone...

The top and the bottom of the Claimed Credit values are removed and the middle value is granted.
