I know that at least Dave and our admin Vaughan are from Australia. But in a large Team like ours I'm pretty sure there must be several more.
Australia is a big place, of which I know little about, so hopefully where they are it'll be ok.

Hi

I have PM“ed Vaughan sunday evening and he said AMDave and his family are OK. They live in Brisbane and the Cyclone never hit that City.

It is Cairns and the area around as have been most affected.

I too was worried of him and his family.

But as NeoGen state: a lot of peoples have got their house damaged and are in great despair. My thoughts is with them all.

We are OK as we are located hundred's in AMDave's case or 1,000s of Km south of the Tropical Cyclone's path.

See map:

http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDQ65002.shtml

Innisfail has been devastated along with many square miles of sugar cane fields, banana and pawpaw plantations.

I wonder if the foreigners we helped through their tidal waves and other acts of Nature will be sending aid to help us now?

Glad you missed out on all that mess Vaughan. I saw a movie about Australia a few weeks ago called "Wolf Creek" that was supposedly a true story. Have you ever heard about it Vaughan?

No. Tell me more, it might jog my memory. Dave have you seen it?

I truly thank you for thoughts.
As vaughan says, I live well south from the affected area.

Tropical Cyclone Larry cut a swathe through Northern Queensland and today the damage estimates have been revised *much* higher than initially thought. Additional Emergency Services crews arrived there today along with the Australian Army Engineers to get electricity and water into the critical areas. It is already clear that Australia's tropical fruit crop basin has been decimated and some infrastructure will take many months to repair. However, it was a relief to see that the evacuations of many thousands of people were tremendously successful.

But we are also on the lookout today for Tropical Cyclone Wati - following directly in Larry's path.

It looks like another big one. We are hoping that it does not hit the relief effort.

Thanks again from Queensland. ;)

AMDave

In awe of the resiliance and character of the North Queensland battlers!

No. My wife tells me she knows somthing about it.
Sounds pretty gruesome from what she tells me.
Award worthy performances too, I hear.

Think backpacker murders a-la I.Milat.
A parent's nightmare.

It was about some kids that were killed by a guy living out in an abandoned mining town. He would move around alot and prey on people with car trouble. They said that the one kid who survived was arrested because they thought he had killed his friends but then they finally believed him about the killer being another guy they met. It was a nice change in that it wasn't the typical Hollywood movie with flying cars and needless explosions.
