Pity about the drive..I'm aiming to get a black one. This is made from bits and bobs that were cheap to pick up. I was impressed with the case to be honst. Fairly unassuming. Looks quite nice, quality isn't highest (it was a PC World £25 job) but it has some nice touches. Like the blue fan mount on the rear..can have a 120mm fan mounted with no screws..just clip on.

Overall a nice quiet system. (Duron 1800, 80Gb Drive, nVidia FX5200 (when I fit it..), 512Mb Corsair RAM cooled by a 120mm fan on rear)

Nice looking machines drezha. And better taken care of than mine, I haven't closed my PC's case in months. :P

bet thats quit noisy...Currently I live in the room with all my PC's so limited mainly by heat, money and noise. :lol:

It's actually the Thermaltake Tsunami Dream in black with the side window :cool:

I should really do a more up-to-date picture, the rad. is now on the inside, and the cabling is much tidier now. And the water level meter on the desk has been removed, as it was getting corroded :shock:

spikey_richie - nice case. I have the Xaser Wingo V (which is one the versions before the tsunami)
How easy was the water cooling to setup? - i have only ever used "normal" air cooling so far. How often do you change/top up the water? Is the temperature much lower than you would achieve with air?

The kit comes with everything you need, except for some decent thermal paste. I bought some Arctic Silver 5 before I got started.

The only tricky part is routing the pipes. As long as you have a good long think about it first, you'll be fine. Just remember the old phrase 'measure twice, cut once!'

The water doesn't really go anywhere, but I check it every week or 2. I've emptied and re-filled it twice now, but only because the coolant was going very dark. Turned out my reservoir is corroding inside, and it was discolouring the water. (see here (http://spikey-richie.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=6&pos=25))

With a Gigabyte Rocket cooler on full load I was getting temps. of around 45°C with the CPU fan on high. I now get around 30°C with the radiator fan on idle and 2 case fans idling (~1200-1500rpm)

Are you using ordinary tapwater or battery water? Ordinary wather contains some stuff as use to stick into hoses and tank.

Destillled wather is the best and cleanest.

Doesn't say on the bottle what the composition is. Got this from the site:



Ethylene Glycol

The functions of coolant include water quality leveling, anti-freeze, anti-rusting and water scale reducing

Coolant can effectively reduce the temperature of computer system

Protects all cooling system metals from corrosion and cavitation including aluminum

Can be filled in any kind of water liquid cooling system


And it tastes NASTY!!!
