It's because QMC@Home was added to the stats yesterday, and now they're gradually adding all teams.
The 9 PM update is almost here. We'll be back to number 2 once Free-DC is added. (They're ranked 1st at QMC@Home)

that is really cool that we are so high on that list with only 500 members.

Ahab, the DC-Vault has strict rules to define which projects it can support. For example, keycounters are not allowed, and projects with closed account creation are not allowed either.
Our Team there is registered on all projects they support already. We can only improve our rankings at those projects to try getting to Free-DC. :)
