Hey everyone

Distributed.net's OGR-25 project is almost finished guys. According to the site statistics it's 92.72% completed.
At the present rate I'd say it will be over in about a month.

So what do you guys say about we making a really good finale on that project? Making one last stretch to the finish line? It could be our priority project for the next month. (March)
We are in 1764th place out of 7205 registered teams right now. It is not a bad score but if we made a final stretch we could easily go up several hundreds of places in the scoreboard.
I've started processing OGR-25 full time last week. em99010pepe told me he was joining me with his two pc's.

Who else wants to join in the fun and push our team up for the final stretch to the finish line? :cool:

Your dnetc.ini should be like this:

[parameters]
id=email address

[misc]
project-priority=OGR,RC5-72=0

[triggers]
restart-on-config-file-change=yes
pause-on-no-mains-power=no
pause-flag-filename=pause
pause-watch-plist=

[display]
progress-indicator=auto-sense
detached=no

[ogr]
fetch-workunit-threshold=100

[rc5-72]
fetch-workunit-threshold=1

[processor-usage]
max-threads=1

Well, with the joint efforts of only half of the OGR-25 registered team members we are going up at an average of 10+ places a day. We are in 1741st place now, opposing to 1764th just two days ago when I created this topic.
In 10 days from now we'll be 100+ places above our current position. :cool:

client configuration should look like this:
distributed.net client configuration: Buffer and Buffer Update Options
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Buffer in memory only? (no disk I/O) ==> no
2) In-Buffer Filename Prefix ==> buff-in
3) Out-Buffer Filename Prefix ==> buff-out
4) Checkpoint Filename ==>
5) Disable buffer updates from/to a keyserver ==> no
6) Keyserver<->client connectivity options
7) Disable buffer updates from/to remote buffers ==> no
8) Remote buffer directory ==>
9) Load-work precedence ==> OGR,RC5-72=0
10) Additional buffer-level checking ==> 0 (none)
11) Buffer-level check interval ==> 0:00 (on buffer change)
12) Fetch work threshold ==> OGR=0,RC5-72=0
13) Fetch time threshold (in hours) ==> RC5-72=0

0) Return to main menu

option 9 is the key to running ogr only. you need to set the rc5-72=0

you can get any of the version at http://http.distributed.net/pub/dcti/

I'm still trying to get ltsp to work under gentoo. I have everything running just won't reach internet so I decided that I could use perproxy as a work around since they will go to server fine presently I have client configured to store buffers to ram and is set to both ogr and rc5-72

Ok we moved another 80 spots today :shock:

I got the firewall set up lastnight to do ip mascrading and the client can now get on the internet and even resolves hostname w/ the diskless clients using ybind and yserv, Then I got pproxy and now clients send and recieve work from the ltsp server and the server sends and recieves to us.distributed.net each client is set to store 24 packet into ram and server is set to max 140 packets and min 20 packet for both ogr and rc5-72. I was totally elated until I noticed all that was configure was ip forwarding and ip masquarade and everything else was open. Now it should be good to go.

They are a little slower for OGR, but 15% or more faster for RC5 workunits.

I agree with you SB2. At the moment I'm crushing OGR workunits but with dnetc v2.9007-486-GTR-03111107 Win32 version.
