With Team Norway so close on our heels I need help for us to hit 1 billion urls crawled for the Team before we are overtaken!

I know we are in the middle of the competition but i'm still running MJ12 while taking part in the competiton.

We only need 8 million to hit the target (I will be able to contribute 3 million with my nodes alone) so in theory we only need to make another 5 million.

Please help!

Will do Mr.Evil Dragon. I got a new router a month ago and it has significantly improved my speeds on my laptop. It's not doing much right now (nothing), sometimes EON if they have work, so i am sure i can help out with maybe 2Megabits/s or so.

Update: It will 3.5Mbits/s. Dslreports said it can take 4.6, but i don't want to make my isp too angry. They already don't like me. :D

I did 228 MB for you today Evil-Dragon but I cannot afford too much bandwidth else I exceed my monthly quota. Hope it helps a little. :)

AFAIK you can run both as I believe MJ12 isn't CPU intensive...

I would run it but I'm afraid what the uni would say...

Ugh... My ISP is still angry. They are capping me at 300-600Kbits/s. I will still try to help though.

to taters: http://www.majestic12.co.uk/

to drezha: i would run both but for the fact that i have a POS for a puter. :(
900 Mhtz AMD Athlon (Thunderbird core)

the archiving of barrels is CPU intensive on a low end puter like
mine so its more effective to run one then the other than both
together. I do run Dimes as a companion to either Folding or
MJ-12, because it is a truly non-CPU intensive project.

I'm in and crawling :D
Same nick as BOINC - Raven_2250 (less the spaces I have on BOINC)
My info:
Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2250
Download: 3993 kbits (out of 5000)
Upload: 307 kbits (out of 370)

Hope I can help you there. :)

Don't go away now Taters... there's more milestones to reach, and Team Norway to run away from. :P

I'm not ;)
I've found that BOINC and MJ12 can perfectly coexist, as MJ12 does not take that much CPU power, and BOINC takes barely any bandwidth. :)
Thus far I am finishing up my 5th and 6th buckets (10K each bucket).

Is there a way to increase the number of "Workers"... this process never fully utilizes the bandwidth I allocated for it. Highest so far has been around 1-1.5mbits and I allocated 4 for it. >_<
I could definitely process more buckets at once (right now doing 3). As long as my router doesn't crash due to the amount of connections (it has been known to do that with BT, when the amount of simultaneous connections is set at about 20 or above).

Nevermind, I just set the max amount of workers to 50 so now it runs pretty nicely :)

PS: Decided to up it to 75... no more - at that point it starts to considerably push on BOINC's property (CPU).

Well done everyone, we hit the big one! whoohoo!

I posted our achievement on the current events page on the Wiki since we are the 2nd team to hit the billion. See it here: http://www.majestic12.co.uk/projects/dsearch/wiki/index.php?title=Current_events
