Come on team, support us on this one. Even a couple of dollars via PayPal will help if we all contribute.

I know we could use some sticks of DDR RAM. We also need motherboards, PSUs, and heatsinks.

BR-please reply with any more details

i could help with a:

- AMD T-Bird 1 Ghz
- Motherboard soltek....(not sure)
- Box with power sup.
- cpu heatsink and fan

Ofcourse the group weights alot, don't know about 10 kg, depending the destination to send the cost's could be very high...

I also donated $5 by Paypal some time ago, we only had the old site and were in some way...little...  , just joking offcourse

For those that did send money via paypal to amd64 project the reason I never knew about your donation is these are two different paypal account. the other was spjeff's account

Shipping would be very expensive for non US folks.

I have been using Biostar m7vig proD Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-138-233&depa=0) it comes with onboard lan and video and I made a mistake and they don't need floppies to boot. I found out that all that needs to be done is change boot sequence and enable boot rom. I want to continue using this board since I know it works well for this purpose and are cheap plus rack is made to house MATX form factor.

About cpu's I can't see the point in using lower speed cpu's I went to apc's website this morning and for 10 node it's going to draw 1100w add that with what the server draws and it would be atleast another $60 month added to power bill if not more and I want to get the most for the money.

I am even considering upgading the XP's we have now with 2400+'s. If I sell these cpus I believe all I would have to do is add $20-40 per a cpu. That would be about a 2.5ghz difference for $100-200. Seem like that would be the ideal way to go.

So now that I have this sort of figure out the parts we do need are ddr 2100+ better, 200w or higher psu, and possible heatsinks (I have found hardcorecooling has thermalright slk-700/ fan for $17 plus shipping and got two already. I could use any heatsink though presently have one using stock hsf and tops out around 50c under full load.

The list of hardware I have for ws005 is:
motherboard(ordered lastnight)
XP 1800+(yes the other 1800 Daphyl does work)
Heatsink
thing I need are ram and psu

address to send any parts is:
Ralph Kitchens
8470 shumock ave.
Northport,FL 34287

I have a Thermaltake Golden Cyclone Heatsink/fan I used for AMD 1.2 ghz I can send if you need it. I am upgrading my 350 W PSU in about 2 weeks, so then I can send you that as well. Will see what else I have. Let me know if you would need either of these.

I just had an idea lastnight . I put my tbird on pricewatch's classifeds for $30 now I'm going to take that money and add another $13 to it and buy a duron 1.8 right now they are selling for $43 so if this works out I don't see why we couldn't do the same for these other cpu's that jlangner and numibesi had offerered.

i agree with that, and shipping a processor is alot different form a all box in my case  .

Forget BR. He left the team and took all donated parts with him.

My mother always said: "Never give money to strangers!"

True but Ralph wasn't a "stranger". He was a trusted Administrator of our site. He gave his name and address to us. He absconded with money donated to the AMD Users team not him. He said he would repay the donations but I still haven't received a cent of the $100 US I "donated" for our team's super-computer.

I have a bunch of parts... mostly memory and coolers.

I have coolers going back to the A4/A6. I also have a couple A64 grade coolers.

As for memory... Tell me what you want.. 133, 266, 333 or the 400.

I have (in total) probably 8-10GB of RAM laying around and at least a half dozen coolers & fans good enough for A4/A6 - XP - A64.

If you want a precise inventory, I will do that.

There are a couple AGP & PCI video cards there too, a few HDs/CDs and even a few 250-350w (20 pin) power supplies. (as I write this... I know I need to create my inventory simultaneous with your need list).

Note: I *KNOW* I have a spare D-link switch (100 FDX w/ uplink) in Pa...
I will have Ben inventory all parts sitting in the storage locker in Pa this weekend and I will inventory what's here now. I'll find someone to get what's in Tx (I can't even begin to tell you how much is in my desk... mem, cpus, everything... it is unknown what's good & what's bad without looking at it... Everything is marked & dated as to status)

** PS: reading previous posts in this thread: There is an alternative.. way to do this. See Vaughn and/or Pepe for details... They are more available than I *****
