Difficulties connecting

I have tried running Seti recently and am finding my computers often sit for some time before getting a new work unit. I know that Berkeley has millions of users so the servers may be swamped. Does anyone have any comments on how to get one of the many seti queing applications to work. What works? How do you set it up?
