A new project for BOINC has emerged at http://www.nano-hive.org/atHome/

Account creation form: http://www.nano-hive.org/atHome/create_account_form.php

It is at the moment in Beta testing however it does say that it's account creation will be open in a few weeks.

One to keep an eye on.

I have signed up for their mailing list so i'll keep watching my inbox.

Nice.
I like their System Status dashboard.
I wish they all had that.
Perhaps the Nano way, may become the way.
Let us know if you get an email response.

Signed up too.

I hate closed boinc projects... particularly the ones I'm left out! :P

Nanotechnology does spark my interest although at the same time I cannot help feel somewhat worried about it (it's just a feeling)

ya.... same here. I think it started when I saw the "linux in dev" comment on clients.

Looks like i should be able to get into the next Beta test for this, project owner e-mailed me back.

I will create the team if i get in and start crunching away to get us some ranks :)

The test WU animations are really quite amazing considering what is being represented.
This really is the threshold between simple dynamics and quantum probability.
Certailnly has caught my attention.

Accounts have been created.

Please check your email and can someone create the team? I'd rather a mod create the team than me do it.

Workunits start either tomorrow or the next day on the FMC_1 simulation and will last approximatly till just after the weekend.

I've joined too. We should get some work to crunch soon.

I joined the team effort too, but I cannot attach to the project?

Is this normal with new projects? :-k

Me too, and in this heat! I'll come back from work tomorrow to find all my machines looking this...

We cleaned out all the test WU's.
Results are being assessed.
Another test cycle will pop up shortly :smilebox:
stay tuned

I aborted a couple of WUs as I thought they had hung after a couple of hours. After looking at the results I noticed that other users had successfully taken 3-4hours to crunch them

gamer007
07-21-2006, 10:46 AM
Ya, some WUs take a while. I had a lot of questions when it was stuck @ 50% for like 2hrs and that the Estimated time to finish was rising up by the second.

Turns out I didn't read the post throughly (just skimmed the 1st post).

Now to split between this and Riesel Sieve. :)

I'm trying it too. Let's see what comes out of it.

Evil-Dragon
08-12-2006, 08:54 AM
Everything's going well so far, unfortunatly we've had to start the simulation from the start since there was some problem with the assimilator for the project. Shouldn't be a problem at the rate we're crunching WU's, since we'll easy get back to where we was in the simulation within 2 days.

I'm getting quite a few work units that give a Computation Error. Posted on the NH@H message board.

Nflight

I have had 5 WU's that had a quick in and out routine, till now. Suddenly I have the gamer007 syndrome I am hung up on a long Work Unit. and the percent of time keeps showing 50%. Oh the fun of testing new projects, actually this is fun, I have never been given the opportunity to do this before , so I am very excited to help in this manner.

Thank You for the invite.

I'm done all my WUs. No problems, but I did have a somewhat longer than usual WU. :P

I was wondering if anyone read into the nano hive project to find this tidbit, Cool video animation of how Nantechnology works. About 5 minutes long and you should have broadband.

VIDEO (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2022170440316254003)

I have 23 WU's left to crunch as of this writing...

Strongbow

Cool vid, I like that ...mind you, I'd like the end product more - when can have it?

New work! :D

Nflight
08-13-2006, 11:17 AM
I have done everything I could but, I cannot pull anymore work down to test :?:
How many WU's did you get? Same as before or less?

Wait hold the horses, out of the blue and just as I give up I too have more work units arriving! Thanks gamer007 I should have never doubted you

Another Question there Gamer007, just what team effort are you part of, as I am not seeing your name listed with the AMDusers, in fact you founded the team but not listed as a participant, what gives?

Interesting, I'll direct that to the admin.

EDIT: Perhaps it's due to me messing around w/ BAM (BOINC Account Manager) @ http://boincstats.com/ .

NeoGen

I thought the founder could never leave the team or it would be dismantled... it would have to pass on the team to someone else and then leave.

It's fixed now. So all is well. :)

Just had my e-mail

Hello,
NanoHive@Home (NHAH) is opening enrollment for beta testing today at 18:00 UTC. Even though we're still preparing the beta test work and clients, several participants have requested that they be able to attach to NHAH now so that when work is available they can immediately begin crunching.

also a bit for those that got in first time around

The URL of NHAH has changed. If you were a beta tester during the closed rounds of testing, you'll need to detach, then re-attach to http://www.nanohive-1.org/atHome/ with the same login information (the database is the same.)
* NHAH work and clients will be uploaded next week.

See you there next week if all goes well [-o< dAVE.

Ahhh.. A big dilema. Helpnig alpha test Docking@Home or beta test NanoHive. :)

I hope Zeppelin will keep our place in D@H. I'm thinking of going back to NanoHive for the time being when it starts.
