Well, I've had my new rig for just over a year. Today, my computer LEDs started flashing and I smelled a burning smell. It is apparently coming from the Power supply.

I bought this unit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817148008

Any recommendations for a new one? I don't want to spend much more than what I did on that.

I have some of these in the 480W version running 24/7. Seem to be OK and not too expensive.

Also have some Antec p/s but they were more costly. I have one of these in reserve for the next p/s that dies on me. OK, antec site gives me a mysql error so its a True Power 2 blue 480.

I'm currently using a Thermaltake 535W pwoer supply. It's working great running 24/7 (since I got the computer a few weeks ago). Though it is pricey on newegg (around $100-$150), so it really isn't an option for you.

I run a Antec NeoPower 480 watt PS, never had a minutes trouble and got it on ebay for under 100 bucks, very highly rated and modular too.

this Neo is going for 10 bucks now, but should go for a lot more ...maybe...all depends on the market.
