According to BOINCstats I hit world position 500 today!

I would never have reached this point if it wasn't for AMDUsers. This team makes it fun to participate in DC projects!

I'm in the 15,757th place. And I'd like to take this moment to thank all of the little people I stepped on to attain my well deserved lofty and glorious position.

Hmm.... nice idea. :)

If I don't forget until the end of the month, I'll try to make a round-up of our best ranked people at the combined boinc stats for the newsletter.

I'm 2200th (http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/boinc-individual.php?show=2100&sort=TC&db1=0&db2=) according to BoincSynergy's stats so have a lot of catching up to do.

on my page i have 3 separate BOINC Cross Project IDentifier (CPID). how do i get these to merge together? i know they are all me - i picked a distinct name on purpose so no-one else would use it!

Did you use a different email when registering for BBC and LHC? I think that's the only thing that influences the CPID's outcome...

Sometimes the CPID also starts out different when you create account and attach to a project, but it gets in sync a few days later... BBC and LHC aren't new projects, so I'm guessing this last bit doesn't help on your problem...

Adding to the conversations I have the same problem as Empty_5oul, I have two identifiers, which means I would be higher on the rankings if I had them both together. So with that wondering today I am going to write an email and ask them how do I get both my CPID's added together?

Empty_5oul
08-20-2006, 11:29 AM
i thought before its if i installed boinc on say a new machine. But if i was to add them so they were all on the same computer after a few days they would merge themselves.

nflight if you get it resolved i would be interested to hear how. thanks.

Taken directly off the FAQ of Boinc Stats:

Why do I have duplicate/split accounts in the BOINC combined stats?

The cause of this is the CPID, Cross Project IDentifier. Every project assigns a new user a CPID. It is partly based on the email address you used to sign up, the other part is random.
The CPID is used by BOINCstats to identify a user across projects.
Whenever you sign up with a new project, you’ll get a new account on BOINCstats because the CPID is new.

What to do to make sure you’ll end up with one BOINCstats account:

* Use the exact same email address for every project.
* Run at least one system with all projects, or one system with project A and B, and one system with project B and C. If there is a project that runs isolated from the other projects, it's CPID with never line up.

When you join a new project, this project assigns you a new CPID. This CPID can either change to the same CPID as the other projects, or the other projects change (one by one) to the new CPID.

It is impossible for me to manually edit your accounts to create one account. It would take to much time to do this for everyone. Just wait a while, and your accounts will line up automatically.

One last thing, which is not too important, but nice for the stats: use the same username across projects, otherwise you get a username like 'Al Bundy @ SAH / Al Bundy @ Predictor / A. Bundy @ CPDN'.

So I suppose we should just be patient !~!

Holy cheeze factories!
Given the crunching power of the top 500 that's no mean feat given the short time that has passed since 500.

@ cicide, I am humbled by your Zen.

I had mentioned that I wanted to reach 5,000 as my Boinc rank. Well I am fast approaching the 4,000 mark. Where I used to jump 35 to 70 places each day has now slowed down to an average of 15 to 22 each day. Everyday the competition is getting harder and harder to pass. As of this writing I am at 4,068 th place.

Where are you listed in the world ranking ?

I'm about to have some real fun for about 1 month, maybe a little longer. We just installed 20 blades into our blade chassis last night that I'm bringing up now and sticking boinc on them. Unfortunately they are intel blades, but they are Intel Xeon 5150s @2.6GHz, dual-core, dual-procs. So I'm adding 80 procs worth of capacity. They'll slowly go away as the company needs them, but I don't think we'll touch them for at least a month

Nice Chris. What project(s) are you going to boost with this blade technology?

cicide
12-01-2006, 01:55 AM
I'll initially be running Malaria Control. If you have any other ones that you think I should run, let me know and I'll run it by the folks in charge and make sure they don't have any issue.

Yippee for me, not that I will even get to the 3,000 mark as soon as I got to this mark but, hey I will continue to fight for everything I can. :blob3:

After reveiwing the stats and looking over the numbers lately the amount of change has decreased a lot. Instead of jumping over 35 people a day, I see losing a place if I am not consistent for two days. Harder to keep the value attained once your here!

PS: This was a self appreciation moment

9,965th place. With 1,023,295 combined BOINC users (at this time and date) that puts me well within the top 1%. Not bad for just a few 'puters and about 16 months of crunching. Doesn't include non-BOINC crunching though.

Steady as she goes...
