LCD Monitor problems

I just bought a 17" LCD monitor and used it about an hour when a white faded out vertical band about 2' wide appeared about 2" from the left side. Changed video card but still there. Any ideas what's causing this.

Try it on another PC to confirm if it is your GPU card or the LCD at fault. Is there any software that came with it? Is it analog or digital connection to GPU?
