I have an Athlon with Mandrake 9.0 and Windows XP Home setup as a dual boot system. When I do a re-boot I get a menu that is displayed briefly (about 5-10 seconds). The contents of this are:
linux
linux nonfb
failsafe
NT
floppy

My questions are:
1. How can I make the menu selection process give me more time?
2. How can I make NT the default (position 1) instead of Linux Mandrake v9.0?
3. What is #2 linux nonfb?
4. What is failsafe?
5. Why would I need floppy?

Thanks in advance.

everything you need is change is in mandrakes control. not really sure what the failsafe benfit is but floppy would be useful if you wanted to get into dos and didn't have your boot sequence set to floppy first in bios. The only real reason to go into dos is if you wanted to flash your bios. all thatcan now be done from windows now with winflash or whatever it is but as unstable as some version of windows are it would be alot safer to use dos.
