Robert P VanNatta a relative of the VanNatta family whose ancestors have been logging in Columbia County Oregon for more than a century spread over 5 generations. He has write a lot about logging and put a lot of links on his website. One of them is named Computer History as is well worth to read.

Another link about computers is this: http://www.classiccomputing.com/ (http://www.classiccomputing.com/)

You can download an mp3-file as contain the first episode of the history of the Personal Computer and listen on it I guess. I have not test it of understandable cause. Perhaps you as is a little older than the average of our members remember these old computers and their history. Perhaps you will say Eureka!:icon_biggrin:

This buy was not cheap. The guy have wrote this:

Indeed the first single user work station between the computer, extra drive and printer cost about $7,500.00 in 1980 dollars which was also about the price of a new full sized Oldsmobile.

What do you say? An Oldsmobile for the same price.

Buying a car, or a computer... hmm... tough choice... I'll go with the car only because in 1980 there wasn't Distributed Computing yet.
