I have found that the optimised client Empty Soul gave me is pretty much the best...http://empty5oul.amdusers.com/boinc/ it is 5.4.11. The standard client is also good. Riesel Sieve is definately an AMD project, so go for it!

Run the optimised client suitable for your CPU. Instructions are at BOINC Riesel Sieve (http://www.boinc.rieselsieve.com)
Use CPU-z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) to ascertain the processor's abilities.

As an example my P4s got about approx 15% improvement (decrease) in running time. A P4 630 Prescott 3.0GHz with 512MB ram and on-board graphics went from 1hr 30min to 1hr 15min which is 15/90 or 16.67% better.

My Core 2 Duo 6600 improved by 3 minutes 49mins to 46mins. My Athlon XPs also improved a minute or two.

Opteron 165 down by 4 minutes 1hr 1min to 57mins.

Not a problem we have at least a 10 day lead and Blackheath and I can run back and hold them off. As long as Bryan can suppy the extra WU's in RS we'll be ok. The reason I was on Tanpaku was the problem he had when the Aussie's and us were going at it and the work was a mess.

I have a XP3000+ that doesn't like to play nicely with Riesel Sieve. It errors frequently with Boinc RieselSieve blah blah 5.25 encountered an error in NTDLL.DLL

Bryan couldn't solve it so this PC can switch to Tanpaku.

It's not careing much for my 4800+ either keeps failing downloads. This was with a fresh download of Boinc.

I've got Tanpaku still on mine until i reach 10,000 points so should be able to keep the fort guarded for a while. Plus i'm crunching RS as well so it's a 50/50 split.

Just switched one machine over to RS. Crunch on team mates..

Looks like RS seems to be a bit low for everyone. I haven't changed anything and my credits are about half of normal.

The credit system changed to fixed credits sometime ago. Optimized boincs don't get more credits anymore.
