Not sure what this kinda stuff goes for these days.
Is £400 to much?

I'll ask her, but i have a feeling she might want me to build her a new machine anyway in a few months time with a dual core chip. I will let you know if she says yes or no.

If the chip is a 939 you could upgrade the system to a dual core with a bios upgrade and be done with it.

If it's 3500+ I think they only did those in a 939 Venice.

Yeah it's a 939 Venice.

Though it is a shop bought system so dual core may/may not work with the mobo. Been wanting to try myself.
I've been looking to cutting back to a mobile based processor (like the Core Duo) in a small system (like a Shuttle or the like) as I'm feel I'm not using this to it's full potential anymore...(ie I'm running Linux :p)
