For those who like to fight Corona within BOINC there's Rosetta (https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=13533)

Why not?
https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/installation-guides/linux/requirements/

If it is the so-called bad OpenCL support for AMD cards under Linux, you can try two things
(after you have upgraded your distro to the latest version and have installed kernel 5, it still doesn't work and your GPUs are more recent than the HD series):

Keep using the Open Source driver, but with the help of Oibaf's PPA
Try and download the AMDGPU-PRO driver from the AMD website

Added Folding and it seems to be running ok for now.

I found it takes pretty recent hardware -especially GPU-wise- to be able to score decent credits. You also might want to disable BOINC while running Folding, as they interfere with each other.
Folding runs at a lower priority than BOINC, so running both results in almost forever running Folding units. Giving Folding a little extra juice locks both.
The PC I built from spares that only ran Folding idled half of the time due to lack of work on one or more of its computing cores, Must be the sudden sharp increase of volunteers.

I have a Radeon RX Vega with a Ryzen threadripper so am doing ok. Probably less credits than an i7 or i9 but it has dragged me up to 7th on the Team stats. The SARS-CoV-2 project is running on my cpu. Not sure anything is running on my GPU at all!!

It takes some fiddling with the settings (configure - slots - add (add your gpu)) in my experience to get all computing cores be discovered by Folding. I couldn't get work on my Ati/AMD GPU hardware either though, but that could be due to the sheer mass of new volunteers.

Our team top-10 as can be seen at the fast stats (https://apps.foldingathome.org/teamstats/team13129.html)
