New workunits: The calculation of similarities and features of the approx. 127.000 new sequences, that were imported from the databases PDB, Uniprot and RefSeq in june, will start in the evening of june 30th.

Actually I'm going to sit out this round myself, I find it hard to get to worked up over a Project that only has work sporadically.

I may run some SIMAP if the Cosmo Project stays down for more than another 3-4 hr's. Scott doles out the WU's and even with the longer ones now I only have about a 6-8 hour Cache at the most and I'm down to about 3-4 hours now.

Sooooooooo if I run out of Cosmo WU's & if there are any more SIMAP WU's left I'll set up to run a small Cache of SIMAP and try and get some until Cosmo comes back up.

PS: LOL, as I was posting that the Cosmo Project came back up again and my Cache's refilled again, living on the Edge is so much fun ... :icon_lol:

The project has currently no work (see below).
The similarity matrix of the SIMAP project is currently up to date. All workunits from the last calculation period are distributed, thanks to all users for chrunchig them.

Looking at the batch moitor this lot won't last long.

I cleared the table and I had my straw at the ready, but so far I have only managed to suck up 7 wu's.
The demand is so great that the "unsent" count hasn't gone over 300 hundred yet but has hung around zero most of the time.
The wu's are still being created at this point so no surprise.
In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the whole lot are gone in 24 hours.

Next one machine downloaded just seven WU's like AMDave and the other I set my preferences to 10 Days, so I received a few more then 7 like 32. Although I had a lot of bad downloads and then the system tries to resend those and I must be getting duplicates or something unsure at this time...

I can't believe I have work units from not doing this project for such a long time...A welcome home Wave :hello:

Yes, I should have caught that earlier. I was up at 0600 getting my 'boys' ready. I monkeyed around for a while trying to get more wu's, but couldn't...what the crap????

I finally scrolled down further on my 'puter proflie page and saw...10/wu per core PER DAY!!! Awwww....

Oh well, So I just put 3 more boxes on the job.

Fooling SIMAP for more work Units accomplished.

I found that once I have worked through all my work units I can reset my boinc project of SIMAP and low and behold more work Units are streaming into my system. (You will have to press update after you hit the reset button, but once that is complete wait for it) Hurry while there are still some available. Woo Hoo :blob3: :blob3: :blob3:

Actually, 1 of my 'boys' picked up around 40 something wu's...somehow. The rest are only getting 20. I may try the reset thing if I work these down.

But I'm still trying to keep my other projects limping along also...


EDIT: my first wu points just came in...and both of us got more points than we claimed...weird.

Since the reset both my systems have retrieved more work units 2 more times, with no regard for that 10 WU limit. So There, stick that in your pipe and smoke ! :icon_razz:

I just noticed a minor -glitch- myself. I have my 6 X2's running, and just noticed I have 240 results. That's a bit more than 10 per cpu per day....(more like 20/per so far with no reset...na nana na na :icon_twisted: ).

I'm good with that.


All kidding aside Nflight.
I was looking through the BOINC 'messages' on a couple of my 'boys'. One box had a message that I had reached the '20 wu' limit. Another had a message that I had reached the '56 wu' limit. And within 15 minutes of that message on 'BOTH' of them, there was a new influx of wu downloads....go figure. :dontknow:

As of right now, all my 'boys' are full...again.

You get more wu's in faster, your limit increase.

You see that avg_turnaround of less than 5 days (432000 sec) results in a turnaround_bonus > 1 up to 10, which is multiplied with the original daily_result_quota.as explained by rattei (Thomas)

One of my systems is still madly crunching away, the other went back to MoneyBee. On the one system it seems it reports 2 WU's completed and then downloads two new ones to replace those two. Interesting as it has not wavered since I reset the project. The other one is just frustrating at best. Maybe it is running 5 projects on one system and 4 on another that stalls the Work Unit progress on the one that I had to retire off SIMAP. Who knows ! :-(
