I just try to release a 64-bit client in the future. So I need to get some data to improve the algorithm.
There is an internal test:

Requirement: Windows XP/2003/Vista 64bit

Run the file and you will find a file "test64result.txt" generated.
Paste the content in it here or send it to pisegment@gmail.com

Thank you!

BTW, V1.4.0.2 released for 32bit Client.
It fixed a BUG: it may loss WU when cache exceeds 200 WU.

The only WinXP 64bit machine I ever had my hands on was at work and it went away to another branch of the company on another town... all the ones we got here have 32bit windows :-(

I had run the test on my Athlon 64 3400+ and sent the results to Just and he emailed me back the following reply:

As we calculated, 64bit client is faster 30% than 32bit client.
We are evaluating the new client and will release it formally soon.

Why not work on a 64-bit client for linux? You would get more people on that as there is a *massive* price difference between OpenSuse-64 and Vista-64........ And to be truthful about it all, I just don't envision a lot of cruncher people lining up to buy Vista-64 for all their 64-bit crunchers. Now maybe some will be running hot copies, but the screws keep tigntening down on that, which will reduce the number of 64-bit vista over 64-bit XP users or 32 bit w2k. Linux keeps things nice and legal and doesn't bankrupt the guys that are running multiple crunchers from their own pocket.

Just some thoughts and comments from an O/S realist.
