Can someone help me look for a decent RSS reader?

I started by trying Pan and RSSOwl but both seem over complicated. I just wanted to be able to view news off the fire service website. (for my case studies)

Anyhow, I'm currently using Opera's and it might be ok for me..Not given it a proper go yet.
Does anyone have any they like using? I'm on Linux but it can be either Linux or Windows really.

SourceForge is always a great place to start
http://liferea.sourceforge.net/
give you a few options

There's a link there to Akregator which seems to be getting some headway over some others.

There are some more linux specific RSS readers here
http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-reader-linux.htm

If you want something that works the same on both windows and Linux, try one of the Java RSS readers. There's loads of them. Here's a good list
http://www.2rss.com/readers.php

There's a lot of different look-and-feel and features, so it is worth trying out several readers to find the one you find the easiest to use and which has the features you need.

Happy reading :)

Cheers AMDave.

Might try Straw.
For anything I cant use on Windows, I have a linux Vmware image I use. (I use GNUCash to manage my finances and Dia)

Liferea looks very nice, runs well. Might have to start using Firefox more now so I can get it to save automatically in Liferea. Opera I cant seem to change it.

Have you had a look at Mozilla Thunderbird?

Thunderbird has been used yeah.

It wasn't great. It seemed to download the same messages on two days. Which isn't right at all becasue I'd read them the first time.
