Well as some of you might still remembe, I ave an Athlon64 3000+ S754. I've noticed that the turions are also S754. Do you guys think I could just swap my Athlon64 for a turion?

A completely new system would be a bit too expensive atm, that's why i'm asking ;)

Or would you guys rather consider swapping my mobo (msi k8t neo) for another one with an agp lock so i could oc more than the 2.2 GHz i'm running now?

I have a 3000+ and as far as a new chip for a 754 I wouldn't spend the money. I have a 3700+ in 939 that I like a lot. The 939's are comming down and the 3700 is about 80 bucks. The 939's are about dead and the biggest thing that you can get to go in them is a X2 4800, but at least you can put an X2 in them. If you want to go higher then you have to start looking at new ram and an upgraded vid card. There isn't much future in the 939 but for a cheap upgrade for right now it could be your best bet. Just a 939 fitted with a 3700+ or one of the cheaper X2's you can always go to a faster X2 later. This is my opinion and there are many people on here that are better at this than I am. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I thought the Turion was for mobiles

it is for mobiles, but i wondered if it would work with a normal mobo as well:icon_neutral:

It should if it's a 754 socket. The one I have is sloooooooooooowwwwww. And it's an X2 TL-50.

one thing i don't like about 754 boards is they don't run dual channel memory.
