These people might be some for us to keep an eye on. They are well behind but if they keep building momentum it could turn into a problem fast.

I put my machines on it... EON is pissing me off.... :BangHead::cussing:

LOL Eon does have a way of doing that.

When your cache is complete, will it auto upload??

gatekeeper53
01-27-2007, 08:44 PM
I set mine for 60 and to download when it gets below 35. They will upload after each wu or at the next oppertunity if either you or the server are disconnected. What Just has done with this client is cool. You can kick it, cuss it. shut it down in the middle of up or down loads, have a power failure, and the thing just goes right on going of as soon as you come back up. It's broken down into 1/5 of 1% increments and restarts at that point. 1% varies in runtime by machine from 12 seconds on my 48 to 1min and 16 seconds on an old 800 MGz intel.

I click download, but I can't get more than 10 WU's

Beerknurd

I forgot about the credit system... I don't have enough money...

What should a new user have his defaults set as??

spikey_richie

I can't get more than 7

[2007.01.27 13:47:05][ERRO][DOWNLOAD]The Server returns error

^ Scrap that, this credit system is a bit weird...

for every wu you give 100 credit points and for every returned wu you receive 150 credits

gatekeeper53

I imagine that the original settings would be good to start out with 3 and 5

Beerknurd

Will do...

As you gather points you can increase the cache to a 1/2 days worth or a day. They have awhile before they expire and I just shut it down and go do something else when the mood strikes me for a day or so.

Well I have come to the conclusion that AMD is faster on this project...

Yes Beerknurd, that is right. My Athlon is 10 minutes faster than the Intel Core 2 Duo. AMD is faster when running many different project. It even run eOn faster.:)

heh... interesting concept. It sure encourages one to complete what they download!!

KWSN have recently registered so we might need to watch those fools, although they might take a while to catch up

That's the whole idea of the credits. And they have nothing to do with your score! As far a score goes it couldn't get any simpler. 1 wu = 1 point. The credits are just to stop people from downloading a zillion wu's and trashing them. I think is is the best set up project that I have seen. Just is working on a Linux client and the undersea cables that were broken last month are being repaired and the site is getting easier to acess.

JUST

er... the Linux version is not under development. I need someone who knows Linux well to help me but I do not find him/her.

I'm now striking the new version client on Windows which has some useful improvements and a new algorithm for Windows x64. I have confirmed that it is about 30%-50% faster if you run it on x64 OS on AMD64 than current version. Another feature is to prevent from losing WU while downloading which may consumes your credit incorrectly.

I have changed the reward of upload (even though expired) to 300 since the failure of undersea cable.

Can you see this signature fast?

Brucifer would be the one to talk to about Linux it's almost all he runs. And from what I read he would be thrilled if Bill Gates had never been born. LOL The sig loaded right up. Alot of improvement in the cables over the last 36 hours. Your pages load right up 4 out of 5 times I try to load them.

awww..... I have nothing against Bill Gates other than I wish he'd just leave the linux people alone... :) Just's post above though sorta shoots down the linux client. :(

Pages are loading well but cannot get the client to DL. :sad5:

Out of 10 tries got it once and the file was corrupt. Will try again in a day or so.

The man to do the linux is actually AMDave, he helped Bryon at Boinc Riesel Sieve to develop there linux based platform. Check with Dave and see what he says about the work to develop a linux working protocol.

I have admit these Team Norway have some really cool smileys: http://forum.team-norway.org//tnforum/mvnplugin/mvnforum/images/emoticon2/yea.gif, http://forum.team-norway.org//tnforum/mvnplugin/mvnforum/images/emoticon2/drumtada1vv.gif, http://forum.team-norway.org//tnforum/mvnplugin/mvnforum/images/emoticon2/worthy.gif, http://forum.team-norway.org//tnforum/mvnplugin/mvnforum/images/emoticon2/yay.gif, http://forum.team-norway.org/tnforum/mvnplugin/mvnforum/images/emotion/applause.gif, http://forum.team-norway.org//tnforum/mvnplugin/mvnforum/images/emoticon2/1745527558425e82100633f.gif, http://forum.team-norway.org//tnforum/mvnplugin/mvnforum/images/emoticon2/twothumbsup.gif, http://forum.team-norway.org//tnforum/mvnplugin/mvnforum/images/emoticon2/cheers.gif, and I see why Aztylen can hit ovet 500 wu's a day:
totalt 16 maskiner
fordelt på :
1 X Xeon 8Way
2 x Xeon 700 4way
1 x xeon 700 3way
1 x centrino 2.1 duo
9 x Intel P4 3.0 ht
1 x intel p4 2.8 ht
1 x intel p4 3.2 ht
Not a bad little farm. That's 16 machines, how many cores?

Looks like Team Norway gave up the chase. XtremeSystems are gathering pace, but they're a long way off yet.

Thanks for the heads-up NVM I've submitted our team name to have our ABC@Home stats included in the DC-Vault.

I wish it occurred automagically :icon_wink:
