Guys, I've noticed that in leiden classsical our team rac is as wrong as it can be. it sits at 81 or something credits, while our #1 member there has an rac of 600+ credits. should we contact leiden about this issue? because its keeping our team from the 10th place or so.

Frederic: those stats that you see are static, Keithw1975 has not crunched on the project in some time. If he would suddenly start up crunching his actual up to date scores would be considerably less, almost zero. The RAC score is only for those people crunching on that project right this moment. So the actual score you see in the stats on the main web site are true. What is being displayed on the teams web page is what score each Team Mate had when they turned the project off.
I hope this explains a little better what you are seeing!

I use Bok's Free-DC Stats and Willy's BOINCstats to see what's really happening.

Bok's Leiden (http://stats.free-dc.org/new/allteams.php?proj=lei)

Willy's Leiden (http://www.boincstats.com/stats/user_stats.php?pr=leiden&st=0&ti=33)

Frederic is top cruncher on the project :)

PO-ing a friend by way of competition is always a good way to get the best out of them. Tends to make everyone rise to the challenge.

Leiden is one of those projects I wished they had GPU apps... but then again I kinda wish they all had! :icon_lol:

Nice going Dirk. Leiden is not a very good payer of cobblestones so to reach 200K is a big achievement. Well done!

Treble one today: After having achieved a #1 position in my adopted country, the British Virgin Islands (no big deal) and a dito position in the team (took hardly more effort) I finally made it to the #1 position in the sign-up-date statistics (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=userdate&proj=lei&startdate=14437) (took me all the time from 12 July 2009...). Presently I am world's #122, so there is still work to do...

600k today!
Bagged that, #120 position world-wide, now for the #110, which I will reach when I've achieved 700k I guess.

700k today!

Slightly ahead of schedule, as I am #108 at the moment.
Next milestone will be the 750k mark.

@Dirk - what is the technique required to get work to crunch at Leiden. I have a Q6600 waiting, set to get work, 9 day cache and BOINC Manager says - Schedule request completed got 0 new tasks.

Dirk Broer
01-14-2013, 08:09 AM
Hi Vaughan,

This should work:

Check server status (http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/status.php) to look whether work is available. At the moment: Yes, plenty
Set all other CPU projects to 'no new tasks' and wait till cache is dry.
Set Leiden to 100% (http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/prefs.php?subset=project).
Update Leiden in the BOINC client of your Q6600.
When cache is filled, re-enable the other projects as soon as needed.

900k today!
And guess what? I've dropped to 112th place! Life's hard at the top and Vaughan is coming closer too....
Guess I'll have to spend September 26/30 at running Leiden all-out to reach to #110

Hi Vaughan,

How many cores have you pulling on Leiden at the moment? Testing a new Socket 2011 hexacore with hyperthreading? Bought a 16-core Opteron?
That's a real impressive performance by you -half your credit comes from last month only!
I guess I'see you fly over in a few days, even though I've devoted half my fleet to Leiden at the moment -rest was on POGS and has now turned Enigma.

Nice going Dirk. Leiden is not a very good payer of cobblestones so to reach 200K is a big achievement. Well done!

You've seem to have found a way around the lousy cobblestone ratio, cranking out close to 40k a day now!

Hi Vaughan,

How many cores have you pulling on Leiden at the moment? Testing a new Socket 2011 hexacore with hyperthreading? Bought a 16-core Opteron?

I looked it up: 19 systems, amongst which six hyperthreaded quad-core i7s (one laptop), Two Phenom X6s, four i5s, four Core2Quads, two Core2Duos and a Xeon E5.
I might as well surrender -but I have planned to go down screaming.

Vaughan's big push forward brought the team up four places this month by the way, FreeDC being the latest victim.

I might as well surrender -but I have planned to go down screaming.

My screaming so far brought me three places higher (109 now), but Vaughan is closing in fast (at 113 already), at the looks of it he's trying for a 50k day score...
At this rate team Canada will fall for us tomorrow and the 3 million credits mark for the team will be reached too.

I was hoping you would have seen me earlier and done a race to 1M. That's my target. Then I'll move on to something else.
My son is building another Linux box for me to run on WEP+M2 as I'm 30 days away from 2.5M on that project.

I don't know how many cores I have on Leiden - it takes ages to turn the battle fleet around :)

Had lots of remote networking issues over the last few days. Skyping my son he fiddled with the proxies and restarted the server and it seems to be running OK again. I was out of touch with Sydney for about 18 hours but at least the boxes were crunching, just unable to see what they were doing from Canberra. All's good now.

Hi Vaughan, spotted you too late, I guess...
I'm aiming at a #100 spot, but that might take longer than your 1 million mark.
If I am lucky I can do 7k-8k a day on all eight boxes that work under my account -by doing only Leiden, but I intend to maintain a top-3 Clank score in the team too.
With B Johansson, LeonardoXIV, lazykiller and you as co-contestants, that's a though competition!

vaughan
09-30-2013, 07:19 AM
Agree with you - Clanks are hard to maintain a lead in.

Dirk Broer

You're getting awfully close now...(108 vs 110)
Poor Tony (at 109 now) won't know what hit him, two AMD Users waltzing over him in one day while he's going at a 3k a day speed himself!
At the end of the day he'll be at 110 -two places lower than this morning- in respectable distance from the both of us.

Don't be sorry, we've almost catched the Canadians! I will just plod on, but you don't have to apply the brakes before you hit the 1 million as far as I'm concerned.
It will be nice to miss a milestone as first AMD User at this project for once, keeps me on my toes.

'Grats Dirk! By the skin of your teeth :P

Yesterday Dirk = 8,623

At the moment Vaughan and me are #101 (1,004,007.04) and #102 (1,003,051.17), but I expect Vaughan's pending alone will catch up with me before the end of the day.
It we maintain this rate for two days longer we'll catch Capwell.nl :: Team ICT Professionals, who currently hold the #23 Team spot.

There's no immidiate threath to our team position with Leiden Classical, there's only a small threath to Vaughan's Most Project Top 100 Ranks (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=mmakers&subproj=p100) position
