After an install fiasco last night, and shutting down of all my xp1800-2600 athlons, I noticed that my boinc output dropped a little over half. However my heat issue decrease major time. So I'm running amd-64's now, and have turned back on the xp2600/2400's and will see what that does to my heat issues and boinc RS output. Eight ofther xp2100's thru 1800's are now offline. Those eight others seem to cause the room to hit critical mass.

So anyway just saying my boincRS output is gonna drop.

I have a 2200 that I pulled the plug on till I can upgrade it to an X2. It just isn't worth the electricity.

This makes interesting reading. It's all about AMD Quad Core power consumptions.

The new AM2 chips are quiet now on the power front. Newest dual cores are 65W. Not bad when you consider a XP is about the same if not a bit higher.

The S939 dual cores are about 120W :icon_eek:

yeah I hear you. I am running 802 per update now with the xp2600 and 2400's added. So that puts me down around 275 units per update cycle, which is what those 8 older systems are kicking into the equation. So there is a bunch of wasted electricity there. So I think I'll stabilize at what I'm running now and then look at pulling the 2600/2400's off as I add more dual cores.

The 2200 has a 400w PS and a 160 gig HD so I'll just drop in a new MB and chip I see the x2 3800 at $115 si thqat might be a quick fix.
