View Full Version : Pending credit

I have 270k in pending points waiting to be validated. This number has doubled in the last 2 weeks. Did they change how they are awarding validated wu's or something? Anyone else noticed their pending credit increasing? I would sure like to have the credit, Poorboy is burning the project up all by himself.

What great output Poorboy

It is probably those wu's that have "Checked, but no consensus yet" status. Many of those don't give credit until 9 copies have been returned due to no matching results which triggers the workunit properties of 9 maximum results.

brian has reduced it from 9 to 7 we lowered the max number of results sent out to 7. This should shorten the wait on those hard-to-converge WUs yet still provide sufficient various hardware configurations to try and crack them. I am up to 15,000 pending credit... :(

From 9 to 7 should help, it should probably be around 4-5 at the most. Thats kinda annoying beings set so high. It takes a good while to build up steam in this project when first starting.

I hate quorums... I know that they are necessary, but sheesh...

Dave,

Annoying is having a wu run for 3 days when 2.5 of those are spent at 90.204% finished and just having to blow it away. No credit for 240,884.67 cpu seconds.

I thought I had one that froze on me... It was stuck at 99.17% for a long time... I just let it go. It finally finished an hour or so ago. I was lucky... This one was only at about 15 hours...

Yep I was getting a little annoyed also. My goal was around 500k, so I stopped around there, and my pending credits ended up putting me over the 600k mark. I dont have any plans to return soon.

I got 700 pending credit (it's small i know, but it's a lot for me)

don't hold your breath or you'll go blue waiting in that project.

Sztaki still has a quorum right??? I need to find a Boinc project that has no quorum and moderate sized WU's... 5 hours or less...

mitchellds

Tanpaku has only 1, I think. And 20-30 minutes per wu

I wanna look for a Boinc project that I don't already have 200,000+ points in... I know, I know... I'm picky...

Beerknurd, come on back to Proteins, you only have 22k in that project and we have short WU's.

Beerknurd
04-12-2007, 04:00 PM
Do they run out of work alot?? Right now I am running Neuron. The WU's are short, and the quorum is small, but I am getting out of work messages often... I'll switch a dual core over to proteins..

I've never run out of WU's in Proteins. Thanks for the help - any help is appreciated.

Which project, Proteins or NanoHive?

I have yet to see NanoHive run out of work... (well except in the early stages)

Pending Credit at the NanoHive Project is quite a normal if you want to run the Project, at 1 time I had over 350,000 Pending Credits but since they went to a 7 Quorum on some of the WU's my Pending Credit has leveled off to around 150,000 Pending Credits.

BOINCSenergy has already started their POTM for May & the NanoHive Project is way ahead right now so it will probably win. But the Project is supposed to start winding down for awhile in the next 4-6 weeks or I guess until all the remaining WU's are run out. So BSenergy may not have enough time to catch us, but that remains to be seen I guess.

Crunch1 has stated that they may load up all the rest of the WU's in the Queue in the next few days & let her rip until the end. That is good as you'll be able to tell how many WU's are left to run.

This is Fair warning, if you want to hold on to the #1 Spot @ the Project now is the Time to be running it, if the WU's can be run down far enough before BSenergy starts running it heavy there won't be enough left for them to do to much damage ... IMO

I think I'll switch some capacity over to NanoHive. Proteins will be there when I/we get done.

PoorBoy

Crunch1 has Posted that all of the WU's are in the Queue which = 17180 as of the moment. Then Damian might want to further investigate some or all of these original tooltips for another couple weeks.

So it's really hard to say how much longer the Project will run before they Shut Down for a Period of Time. I'm going to watch the Queue & when it starts to run Low I'll Bump my Preferences up & get or try to get a weeks supply of WU's. It's quite possible that the Work will be gone before May so BSenergy won't have any to run for now anyway ... :dontknow:

On March 4'th Crunch1 stated there were about 100,000 WU's left so in about 40 days since then it has gone down to less that 20,000 WU's or a reduction of close to 15,000 a week. So that may be all that's left to run (for a week or 2) ... If that's the case we should be alright there for now, there's not enough WU's left for any Team to catch us until after the Project comes back up anyway ...

So it may be all right to run 1 of the other Projects, I'll be @ the Nano Project until they pry my cold dead hands from the WU's ... :icon_lol: ... & that should be enough to sustain our lead ...

There is a proposal for running NanoHive as a race for our team but it perhaps not is so good? If they not have enough WU´s or if we catch up a lot of delayed pending credits as not will be verified before shutdown?:)

Your probably right, the Queue has dropped to 16,000 already in the last 2 hr's, I suspect other people will do the same as me & up their Preferences to Cache more WU's. I'll have to keep a close eye on it or they may run out before I can Up mine.

I don't want to do it until I have to so as to have a realistic chance to finish them all before their Deadlines ...

THERE ARE ONLY 2 NANO WU'S LISTED IN THE QUEUE!!

These may be gone due to the lag in site update.

10945 in progress.

NOTE: Well, the website is not correct. I'm still d/l'ing wu's like crazy....6 or so in the last 5 minutes.

I suspect there will be a limited # of WU's available for the next 3-4 weeks or longer, with the amount of WU's I have Cached I'll still be running the Project for some time to come & with WU's resent because of error's, deadlines missed, and other assorted reasons you should be able to pick up a few WU's here & there to keep running maybe until they start up again.

From a post Crunch1 made it's quite possible the down time will be very short, time will tell I guess ...
