OMG, I would have had a Heart attack and a Stroke at the same time... I just can't imagine how low he must have felt...

Well the world I came out of, the people above the tech would have been in *massive* sh*t. First off, why only one offline back up? Not doing 30 days worth like a full on weekends and incrementals during the week at a minimum? Not saving one at the last of the month in case in case something in the future requires stepping back and incrementing through things. Not to mention that tapes suck so much reliability wise, to only have the one is just totally foolhardy. Then I wonder how the tech would have formatted two drives at the same exact time? Pi$$ poor system design. There was more than one person there that was way in over his/her head.
