I just looked and found 2 identical cpu's with different wu outputs.

Box #1 intel 3.2mhz doing about 61 uploads a day.

Box #2 intel 3.2mhz doing about 37 uploads a day.

Both boxes have same mb, 1gig ram, xp pro. Affinity and priority are set the same.

??:sad5:

Any ideas.

Check for Cat Furballs lodged in the machine? :icon_mrgreen:

Check the log file and see how many uploads they each did. Then drop the log files and the place you got the figures above in an e-mail to Just. I've got the same problem with a pair of 3500's and he don't see a problem. But then mine are set a little different and gives him an out. I would like to see his response to you.

Same problem here with 3 of my E6600 C2 Duo's, their all running at the same speed with the same BIOS settings but 2 of them are putting out about 91-92 per day while the 1 is only putting out 81 per day.

All 3 have the same Mother Board & same Memory, I don't have a clue why there's a 10 WU per day difference between them. Problem is I don't know which one is only putting out 81, the PI Signature only shows the GHZ but not the name of the PC. The WU Times are within 30 sec's of each other so there shouldn't be that much difference per day I wouldn't think ... ???

I really think the problem is in the "My Devices" section I think the wu's are being reported and counted. I think Just has a problem between the reporting and the display. At least I hope. And PB thanks for helping I really appreciate it.

You appreciate it? I lost hair in that blow as he zoomed past me. I can still feel the breeze. Good job there PoorBoy.

Steve that sig can't be right is it? That 3800 isn't running at 994MHz. I know Bender has his at warp speed lol

hehe
Steve didn't get the "apply preventative hair gel now" memo.
LOL

At least it didn't get caught in the afterburner and fried lol

As an example of what I was trying to say earlier right now my 3800 is showing 51 in "Upload last 24" but in the "Uploads" column it shows 56. There shouldn't be any differance because 24 hours ago that machine didn't exist.

Message sent.

PoorBoy, Your Pi sig should show a slight difference in cpu speed for each cpu, as each cpu is read different by PI? And this speed should (maybe) correspond to a specific box in "DEVICE" tab in PI. That's how I tracked this down to the Boxes in question.

Hope this helps, it werked for me...

Thanks Bender, I know which box it is now anyway, it wasn't the 1 I thought it might be. I'll have to see if I can get the extra 10 or so more WU's out of it somehow ...

:icon_redface: Wow, this is a good one. I looked at my Pi Sig closer. Then checked the computer 'properties', Then tore down the box in question. It is a P4, Not a Dual core. My slow box is a P4 with HT....doh!

That would explain the lower output....

I can barely keep track of AMD cpu's.

I don't even try with Intel. All my intel's are "hand-me-downs" or "loners". If it runs when I plug it in, I'll give it a home. The only intel I bought was a 200Mhz....many years ago..in a galaxy far, far, away.

I found out what was wrong with the PC that was putting out 10-12 WU's Per Day less than the other 2 that were running @ the same speed. First off I became suspicious of that PC because it was running about 10c Cooler than the other 2, it was running but not the way it should be because I checked the BIOS & I was getting a FAIL Reading for the DDR2 Voltage.

I swamped out the Memory to see if the Memory was bad but I got the same reading. So I discovered if I set the FSB to 370 from 266 I didn't get the Fail Reading for the DDR2 Voltage. It's either the Power Supply which isn't that old really or the Mother Board. At 1 FSB Setting the DDR2 was fine but then I was showing a FAIL Reading for the CPU Voltage.

It's limping along now & seems to be okay for the time being but Monday I'll order another Power Supply & put it in, if I still get FAIL Reading then it's the Mother Board I guess. Have to RMA it because it's less than a year old with a 3 year Warranty. I'll run a Power Supply Check later and see if that gives me a Fault but for now as long as the Temps are the same as the other 2 I figure it's running okay so I can live with that until I get anther Power Supply or Mother Board. I'll just buy another Mother Board before I RMA this 1 if it's bad that way I'll have minimal Down Time with it
