I started out just going to up-load the AMD ESCAPE screen saver but I also put a few
-FREEWARE- app’s that I use or have used... No worries about Virus’s or spy’s I’ve used most of them for years but as always use them at your own risk...
This is all freeware nothing is “Hacked-Cracked” or otherwise altered...

AMD64 ESCAPE! Screen saver: Self evident...

CPUtest: CPU Benchmark

Dust Buster XP: Cleans useless files from HDD

HDD Tune: Gives HDD *Temp’s- Error Scan - Benchmark

Kerio Personal Firewall: Self evident...

Memstat-1.6.0.0-setup: With AMD’s memory controller I don’t use this for auto freeing but it’s good for monitoring Ram and freeing when you decide to...

Move on boot: This is good to remove/Delete locked system files on re-boot. I use it to clean my prefetch...

Pawn: This is a nice Chess game...

WinOFF: This is good for shutting a system down at a predetermined time... This comes in handy if you’re not crunching... Yea-Right...

Just realise WinOff is just what I need at the mo. (internet access isn't 100% so I can set windows to turn off when a folding unit finishes so I can save some leccy rather than have it sit there doing nothing.)

But I found one on Portable Freeware that lets me do the same without installing :) ;)

Geez, I use all this stuff at werk, When anyone says "My computer is acting up...".

It's amazing. When I ask, Why do you have this (menu bar or thingy in taskbar, etc.) on your computer they say, "I just clicked on this box...". It's getting better now with our new firewall, but not much.

Everyone is streaming radio stations, running live weather or watching CNN video clips (and youtoob). Always asking, Why is my computer so slow, I get faster internet at home...

this is a semi-related question. What is a good Anti-Virus for a server?
I know you can't just throw the free version of AVG on there, and I don't think Avast worked either.

I guess I will be willing to spend a few bucks, but free is always nice :icon_wink:

Thanks

If you do end up paying, NOD32 is cheap.

I bought Nod32 recently with a 3 year license. It's one of the better antivirus products imo.

I can tell you this that D@&n CA/Etrust Internet Security suite is a resource hog... I just dumped it, it was dragging everything down...

I got NOD32 about 6 months ago on two computers. Not a problem what so ever. Can't even tell it's running. IMHO the best around. :)

Let me know if you run into any snags and I can help you with it... I just thought the original directions were more confusing then helpful so when I figured it out I made some that were a little more direct or maybe I was just being dyslexic that day...:icon_mrgreen:
