There you go, 2 X2's for the weekend. The big data dump is from me not have all my nodes attached. That dump is from the last couple o weeks of 'flash' drives.

I've never run this on a fast machine before, wow.

Hello my fellow D2OL’ers... This is the same D2OL progress utility as found on the free-DC forum only I simplified the install instructions for Windows-XP...
It’s really nice to be able to monitor all D2OL progress from 1 computer...

Heh, you saw that didja? 500 or so just dumpped. Downloaded another 750 to do. I have another 500+ waiting to come home tomorrow.

Bender10
04-09-2007, 10:30 PM
Nice going!

I only have ~200 at werk. The computers are too slow, but points are points..

Steve Lux
04-09-2007, 10:51 PM
These are slow 'puters too. Dumb-ole slow-poke Intel systems. But 750 wu's will last each for a week or so.

Steve Lux
04-10-2007, 01:45 PM
You know, when I take home the stick from the dual core Intel tonight I'm going to see if I can set D2OL up on a second folder on the USB stick. That way I can run both cores on the same stick - if it works (and if it doesn't cook the processor). If it works that should add close to 50% to my D2OL output.

Steve Lux
04-10-2007, 10:26 PM
Just dumpped another pile of WU's. Should be between 600 and 700 or so. Going to try the two instances on the same stick thing now. I'll let ya know.

Bender10
04-10-2007, 10:57 PM
It should werk. That should help us get back in the top 10.

Steve Lux
04-10-2007, 11:56 PM
Seems to be working good. Just put D2OL in different folders on the same stick, so now I can use both cores on my work system. Gotta shut them down now though, they are stealing capacity from Proteins big time.

i want to make it clear that the moment i pulled my points from D2OL, i was excluded from the

Welcome back Opteron. You know that from AMDUsers there is only down hill.

As for crunching D2OL; I still am but on a P4 semi-dual core at work. I bring home and dump my WU's ever few weeks. (about 500 WU's done and about 1500 more to go - this session) It's a worthwhile project.

I'd have more on D2OL except that we are so close to gaining a few spots in Proteins that I have all my home efforts focused there. Both are medical projects which are my highest priority.

"Need more crunchers" is a concept that is ever on my mind.

I put one core of my 3800+ on D2OL to help out a bit - still have my work unit going at it on both cores, and should be dumping that work by the end of this week.

As we just gained a spot in Proteins, by passing up SETI.USA and within a week we should gain another by passing up BOINC.Synergy - I thought I could help out here a bit.

Beerknurd
04-29-2007, 06:20 PM

I could be wrong but it looks to me like we have more teammates returning work on D2OL then at any one time since I've been here... :qgreenjumpers:

After speaking with a friend I'm going to throw a little at TSC as it needs a lot of help... From what I understand it will help the overall team in the DCV points as well and besides it more directly address some of my personal issues in the medical socity...

One last thing, I'm losing a box this week because I need to send it to my Son so my already small production will get a little smaller...:(

Thank you all for all your hard work...:qgreenjumpers:

NVM
05-01-2007, 04:16 AM
i can't belong to a team that endorses this kind of thing. its a phony 6th place, and after the last episode i thought things might have changed. you want it, you can have it. members were duped by the alias as well, but i suspect they don't care cuz there's points again.

Opteron
05-01-2007, 05:29 AM
Since I'm losing a box I'm just going to wait until I can throw a little more at it B-4 I start running TSC along side D2OL... :icon_redface:

Steve Lux
05-01-2007, 07:48 AM
Endorse what kind of thing? If you mean team members joining and leaving and taking or bringing their points with them, well, we might as well embrace it because we sure can't change it. As far as I'm concerned the more the merrier as long as we're civil with each other. One sure way of eventually busting the team is to fuss about folks for taking an interest elsewhere and leaving, and fussing at folks for changing their minds and coming back.

The important parts are that we are doing good works and that we are civil with each other - wherever we are.

Bender10
05-01-2007, 01:42 PM
I'm running off my remaining wu's and switching over to Tanpaku. I still have 3 'Flash' drives I'll keep running for you (300-400 week).

NVM
05-01-2007, 01:56 PM
Endorse what kind of thing?

joining under a new name. he's playing the members here. the effect is any new members will get an extremely cautious welcome, if any. oh well, really doesn't matter anymore. i guess i'm used to stricter rules. maybe i'll come back under another name to show you why multiple accounts are forbidden on most other boards.

Brucifer
05-01-2007, 03:16 PM
Wrong Mike. Why another account? Simple reason. With projects that don't track team scores it is impossible to crunch for multiple teams at the same time. With boinc projects one can simply change teams and points for multiple teams continue to count for each team under the user's account.

As for duping people? I hardly think so. In d2ol there are only a few people participating that can consistently put up 1700 to 2400 points per day, like around 4 or 5.

Why combine them? Because I have been here at this team for quite a while. I have several good friends here and wish to continue crunching with them. The greatest majority of all my d2ol/tsc points were crunched here. Yes, I do wish that team points were tracked by all projects, but they are not, and that is totally out of my control.

If you don't like me, then that is totally beyond my control also. Is that going to stop me from crunching D2OL/TSC/dnetc/PSP/MoneyBee and a couple boinc projects? No it's not, and I don't intend to leave here because of it. It's time to move on and worry about the important stuff in life like more money for electricity bills or whether or not AMD is going to get their quad cores out this year at a price we can afford and stuff like that.

As we said in the 60's..... peace brother.

NVM
05-01-2007, 06:08 PM
i've already proved my point. you're wasting my time.

Steve Lux
05-04-2007, 02:42 AM
Did another D2OL dump today.

Looking at the stats, it looks as if Ars Technica is making a move on D2OL.

Last night I started letting the 5 days worth of Proteins wu's wind down on my 3800+. When they do I'll put this system full onto D2OL to help hold them off.

Beerknurd
05-04-2007, 02:44 AM
I'm sure that I have at least 600 to dump when I get home... In about 1 hour...

Bender10
05-04-2007, 03:15 AM
Holding ars 'off', and we are 1.5 million behind them?

Thanks, I had a REAL bad day today...needed a chuckle..

Steve Lux
05-04-2007, 03:22 AM
I guess it depends on your perspective. I have grown used to seeing AMD Users at the top of the daily output on the FreeDC stats page. I realise that we are far behind them in the team score and that catching up to them would be a real challenge, but my thinking was to help prevent them from pulling farther ahead. Hence the "help hold them off" comment.

Bender10
05-04-2007, 03:36 AM
I understand. We are in the same position on Tanpaku. Trying not to go backwards (or lose ground as it were) any faster than necessary, to stay within 'striking' distance...

(ok?)

And, I really needed a chuckle....

Steve Lux
05-04-2007, 04:03 PM
Also, I can only provide 1 system as the other two have to stay on Proteins to help hold them off there.

So much to do and so few cores to do it with..
