I've been scouting around for something to replace 3 old machines that I gave away recently.

Among my searches I came across this
http://www.ipspty.com.au/index.php?comp=op1

I like the upgrade path on this board and I am leaning towards it.
Does anyone have any experience or opinion with this or similar boards?

Tyan make great motherboards very reliable I have one for my 2way Opty. They always seem to be the first choice systems for AMD when they dish out their prerelease chips .

If you want to use them for O/Cing though, forget it!

I'm gonna save to build a "home server" this summer, with an ASUS KFN32-D SLI, a pair of Optys 22xx (2214HE or 2216HE, depending on the price tags) and 4Gb of Registered ECC RAM. The board uses the socket F, so in a couple of years from now I can upgrade to a pair of quads, and with 8 DDR2 slots on the mobo I can go up to 16Gigs of RAM. :)
