i was just wondering how many active members we have. that is to say how many visit the site daily and are still computing with us.

I'm an active member.
I usually run ChessBrain, D2OL and DNET.

I certainly think we seem to be doing very well in some key projects. As for how many of us are active and check the boards daily... I think probably something like 15-20 percent is my guess.

em99010pepe,

Are you not running any Predictor???

I've been making some test here with Predictor and it is a DC project impossible to run in my computer. As I said to two members I moved my computer from my room to my parents room and now I don't have total control of it.
Predictot runs under Win Me with a dos window opened and my family is always closing that window.
ChessBrain can run as service and they can't see if the program is running.
DNET can also run as service.
D2OL can run in system tray.

Running in system tray or as a service is the best way to hide DC projects.

Oh, ok. My wife thinks that running these projects is stupid. She doesn't understand why I waste my time. I think they are fun and addicting. I could sit here and watcth it for hours. Before this computer I had an 800 mghtz celeron processor. The only thing I ever ran was Ubero. I averaged about 120 WU's per day. And that was in text mode running 24/7. I got this computer and it ran 800 with the GUI!!! After some tweaking and IBM java. I was hitting almost 2000 per day with 1 computer. After that I was hooked.
Plus this site make it alot of fun. Without being active here, I would still be running Ubero at 800 WU's per day thinking that was as good as it get's!!!!!
You guys are definately my second family!!!!!!!

How's that for a testimonial???

Go for it, I'm not going to run it for a while, unless Predictor dies for an extended period of time.

Next time the wife gives ya hell about the puter, bring up the curling iron, the 1800 watt windtunnel hairdryer, and all the crap in the medicine cabinet.... Worked for me :D
