I was looking at Todays Statistics on D2ol's website and saw that today The Ninja Team crunched twice as many Canidates and Conformers as our AMD Users team has! We need to beef up our crunching!!! lol :D

Team AMD Users shall triumph!

Too much horsepower here :)

From me (on D2OL) ... that's just 1 real node and 1 startup node....
the others are setup and ready, waiting for parts.

I respect Pentium users and that's cool since Intel decided to follow AMD's lead finally and give up on the other cores that clearly were the wrong road..... I like seeing good technology advanced all the way around.

Friendly team competition is also good because it's all for a good cause!!!!!!

Now let's have some fun!

If I may add my 2 cents....

1) signing up just to read forums is got in good form... and two can play that game.

2) Please do remember, although sometimes dry, there is a lot of humor here... and as for the competition.... it really is in the spirit of good fun..

3) Is the ultimate "United" goal the same for us all.... being the solution to diseases, etc???

Are these not true?

Ok,
Perhaps some PM's of 'opinions, options, suggestions' to our admins is in order.....

How about from here on out, we PM or work out something with our admins........

I have sent a PM with a few suggestions / requests for consideration.

I do think it's time....... Sad, but unfortunately true. I would hate to see 7/8 of this site invisible to guests, but if that is the nature of the beast... so be it.... or perhaps a 2nd site URL... whatever....

A cleaning of the Userlist is probably also in order as well.. :(

its called inter team banter. when two teams are fighting for posistion its a fun way to egg each other on ;)

Guys. Do not let the opposition rile you. This is tactically just what they would like to see. Remember,
Peace + Unity = POWER (esp. when toting an AMD)

Although I haven't added up all the CPU power in all the projects, if they went head to head with us in a single project (not going to happen) I think we would still win.

The best strategic approach we have is to maintain focus on our major projects and, like Chuck said earlier, welcome our visitors (perhaps some of them will come back to stay one day) and sit back and smile politely.
In the mean time, lets keep encouraging our friends and neighbours to get into the Team spirit. :D

As for my 'admin' comment, there are other things we discuss in the open, and I guess you haven't seen it... that's cool... that is prob best team private.

I just had a brain buster Idea..........

What if.... with total cooperation from all......on both teams..........

We made two joint teams...... one of Intels and one of AMDs.....

that would answer the age old question... and truly be a sign of
maturity, unity, and team spirit from all..... regardless of what
we have under the desk....

How about it Ninja and AMD Users? A pipe dream or a true possiblity?

We could even go 1 step further and make it a TOTALLY joint team.

What are everyone's thoughts? As we all agree, it's for the better
good..... the project benefits either way......

and (MOST IMPORANT)

we would certainly clean house together against OTHER teams.......

We ALL would have bragging rights.... :)

Chuck

PS: If we like it, we could bring in a few select other teams and keep on enjoying the fun against the 'country wide' teams... (especially some of those other projects) true?

Stu,
I see your point in the 'top 10' concept... nice idea. I do think it might be an admin burden.... Still, a great idea.... Question is: Would the top 10 from each be enough to make a difference? Again, clearly a concept for pondering and gaining feedback from all.

First of all HI!!!!! It's awfully green in here...:)

Only 5 posts??? Meady? are you still among the living? Or are you just on your good behavior while we are guests?

Explanation for AMD Users... There are 4 (known) reasons for Meady not posting faster than the flood timout value in our forums... (yes there is a speed limit, guess why?...:) )

1. No Internet Connection (Usually results in him circumventing the timout values for the next 2-3 hours once the connection is back up... )

2. Production of his signum product.

3. Footie or Rugby WM/EM or similar on the telly...

4. Medical reasons...

There are a few of us that can atleast challenge for shorter sprints... (Most are here visiting) But None of us have yet beaten the master...:D

In restrospect.... I may have been mistaken.....

It was suggested that I was being immature asking admins for assistance..

Yet, at the risk of being accused again or seeing more immature actions...
(unless this is humor that I *totally* do not understand.... which is always possible)

Would you all please just knock it off? I believe I can now ask
some folks to 'grow up and cut the crap'? If it's competition someone wants... then let it be competition...

Also, doors swing both ways and sometimes hurt when they hit you in the ass.

With all due respect (or lack thereof, as appropriate) to all concerned.

I can dress you guys up but I just can't take you anywhere

I'd just like to assure the members of AMD Users that there was absolutely no offense intended here. "Postwhoredom" is a way of life over at Ninjas. There's a reason we have 146,398 posts on our forums, LOL.

Our slogan is "Distributed Computing with a Twist"... well, that's the "twist", we're all nuts

A few posts ago, I was asking where all the girlies were. I thought DC projects were full of men/boys/lads/chaps.

Now we have some. I think

Can I just say [in a single post - shame on me] that things simply keep getting better around here. Each time I log on there is a new dynamic to catch up on. I love this team because of the excellent banter that is here and by the way I love the...
