Noooo.. Invitation code. :(

Can't help you there Gamer, I got in earlier in the day when no Invitation Code was needed ... I think this is a good Project for the slower PC's, the Credit is Fixed @ 4.80 Per WU & no matter what you use to Process the WU it takes no more than 1/2 Hour it looks like. I did 1 WU with 1 of my Quads, it took close to 1/2 hour and I received 4.80 Credits, thats about 1/2 or less of what I would get at most any other project so it's not a very good Project for the faster PC's I don't think. I think I'll just throw my P4 3.4 on it over night just to build up a few Credits at the project ... :)

:icon_lol: ... Guess that ain't going to work, looks like everbody sucked up all the WU's for now & the Server won't give me any, I should have sucked them up myself earlier when they had some to get yet ... :icon_wink:

It looks like the Yoyo project is running the dnet client under a BOINC wrapper now.

Yes. The new "cruncher" client is doing OGR.

There are a couple of issues at present though.

For some reason the client won't run 2 instances at the same time (ie on a dual core). Any time a second client starts it immediately crashes.

Also at the uploads to the server have failed and the short wu deadlines means that the last of the test wu's are failing their deadlines.

I have posted in the project forum (http://www.rechenkraft.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=80835#80835), but it is nighttime there so I don't expect resolution for several more hours at least.

yoyo, the admin, is looking at the results and will be trying to get them verified against the distributed.net database. This could bring new life to the OGR project. Considering that it has immediately practical applications I am keen to see this work.

yoyo has released a client update 1.02 which fixes the SMP problem and now allows more than one instance to run at a time.

Some news:

10.08.2007 New server
The new server is up and running. 1000 work units are waiting. The new URL is www.rechenkraft.net/yoyohttp://shots.snap.com/images/v2.17/t.gif (http://www.rechenkraft.net/yoyo). The database of the new server is some days old. I keep this old server up and running some days, because the crunched results are still needed.

when is this project getting added to the stats page? I am currently #5 in the world not to mention (though, I guess I just did) #1 in team. at least until other peeps start rolling on it.

Gees! You snuck that one by me LOL
Nice move into #1.

This project has been very alpha until last week and is now looking very beta at the new address with clients for win-x86, linux-x86, mac-ppc, mac-intel, but no AMD64 (win or linux clients yet)

I have some more reading to do to establish if "yoyo" has made progress with the distributed.net database validation, which will cement this project's status as beta. I am sure that once the validation has been successful (and I have no doubt that it will) all further development will be on the core-client and the points allocations and it will be a quick trip out of beta into a fully formed boinc project.

It is up to Ototero when he pops in the new entry for this project, but this one is looking good due to the excellent work by yoyo and Ototero is quick on the stats so I expect it will be soon.
