Hey guys,

I'm trying to drum up some support. Why don't you join us at the Cosmology project? We could use your help. I've been running it for several days, and it really runs well, and gives great credit. I think it still requires a invite code, so if you have a interest and will join us, we can get you the code.

Everyone has their own pet projects, I think I'll make this one of mine. Poorboy sure has! You ought to see what he's doing there. Big time Pharming :icon_wink:

I hope to see you there. Don't make me have to start giving out door prizes!!

Here's the link, and don't forget to join our AMD Users group once you start crunching.

I am using Boinc 5.10.13 and the progress meter never moves when I'm crunching C@H. Is this normal?

Yes, thats quite normal for the Cosmo Project, there is Checkpoints though. If you shut BOINC off the CPU Time will restart @ 0:00 Time but the Wu will still only take the normal amount of Time to finish. In other words if you shut BOINC off and the Wu was @ 1 hour already when you restart BOINC the Wu may Finish in 2 or 3 min's if thats how long it was going to run & only show 2 or 3 min's in the Results but you still get the full 60 Credits for the Wu ... :)

hows the credits calculated?

NeoGen
08-05-2007, 07:26 PM
It's a fixed credit system, as far as I've seen. 60 credits per successfully crunched WU.

PoorBoy

Neo's right Fred, 60 Credits Per Wu, no Benchmarks involved. It's really a very generous Credit System, if you want or need the Code let me know & I'll PM it to you ASAP ... :) ... We are trying to run down the French Fry's right now & can use all the help we can get as they are a very strong Team when they put their vast User Base to work at a project.

However I've some problems with Cosmo WU. After 1 hour and 21 minutes it didn't work at all, it stood at 0%... Why?

P.s. I've already try to reset the project...

Thats normal for the Cosmo Project, the Wu never shows any % Progression but it will finish OK. Scott's working on that so it's ready before the Project goes Public ... Just let the Wu Finish, as long as the CPU Time keeps increasing the Wu should be OK ...

Ok, thank you again.

But when I can see the progression in a graph like Rosetta or World Community Grid? Is it possible or is useless?

P.s. Sorry for my English but I'm only an italian student...

a couple of ways.

you can look at your stats directly in the boinc client under the statistics tab, or use any number of free third party services like boincstats. You can sign up there and see very detailed stats. check it out. Here's mine.

djbill what CPU are you using? How many GHz? Cosmo tasks take several hours to run so be patient. As PoorBoy wrote earlier, Scott the CosmologyAtHome project admin is working on displaying the progress percent. It is not a fully operational project yet; still Alpha phase.

If your going to show the Graphics it will take longer to run the Wu's ... Graphics may look pretty but they slow the processing down considerably depending on the Project your running ...
