The new uFluids work units are very different in their behaviour compared to the last batch. These are extremely long running. On a Q6600 the estimate is >65 hrs. The last batch took <10mins each. Somethings wrong. :(

A very large workunit set should be available on Wednesday, August 29. Only a small amount of workunits will be ready for downloading until then.

Aha! I thought they meant large as is many. not large as in long. hehe

I just got one.
It says 6hrs 52mins.
Is there a decimal point between your 6 and your 5 ? lol
Looks like a trick of the BOINC estimator again.
I'll go quids - mine takes longer and yours takes less.

Posted by Robert Manning:

"if the workunit is rect_comp_sy_incomp_boinc## with ## as 1 through 3, you may cancel it. WUs of ## of 4 seem to be working. My apologizes."

Mine was a boinc1 so I canceled it and received a new boinc4 with an estimated time of 6 hours.

When I am done with some of these SIMAP Wu's I will chew a few ufluids and see what all the hussle and bussle is all about!

Somethings wrong. :(
he was right (yet again:icon_rolleyes: :icon_wink::icon_wink:)

best hold off for some more info on that thread that BobCat13 posted above.
people are having to abort multiple days worth of work.
As pointed out by Billy Ewel 1931:

...hate to lose work done but that is exactly what RESEARCH is all about...

as mentioned above, mine is a "4"
it has just started and the time estimate is declining - not going up.
Looking like a finish in about 2 hours

checking back in
the wu is now at 30% after 2hrs 17mins and the estimate has gone back up to 7hrs 16mins duration.

Right.
These things are completely unpredictable.
The wu just passed 50% at 2hrs 39mins.
There are fast and slow periods withing the wu.
So the time estimates are meaningless.
Just got to sit back and wait-see.

Ultimately, it finished in 5 hrs 4 mins.
This morning I see others completing wu's in the same series finishing in much much longer times however.
