I am glad you survived your power outage. I hope to have my 5kw UPS online soon :)

I just had a chat with the local 'Solar' guy. He will be around soon to check my house/property for a posible solar installation. That should rectify the power outage problem...

Don't forget to consider wind as an additional solution for energy. The wind blows even when it is dark outside (he he), and in your location of the country there is a lot of wind available. :sad5:

Did you mean wind or hot air???

Are you referring to the hot air women produce or the actual Mother Nature produced Breeze? I am talking about the actual air mass moving outdoors! Wind Turbines to power your Array of crunchers in the Dungeon!

May I ask what UPC is and stands for? Is it a unit as use battery if the circuit breaks? Or is it inbuilt into the PC? I think this service is not available for me or am I wrong? But on the other hand we have very, very, very seldom a circuit breakdown.

I have checked the property for Energy alternative on my C2D. There it stands:

Status: Interrupt free source of EL
All text is grey

Information:
Developer: Model: None

Choose developer: American Power Conversation
Common

If I choose Common I get APC and I shall choose com-port.

Info: The UPC service is for present stopped.

Hello Lagu,

Yes, the UPC (UPS - uninterruptable power source) is a standby battery source for use when the power goes out. It is not really a problem, except during big storms.

Your power properties will change (to show a UPS is connected) if you connect the data cable from a UPS to your computer.
