Cosmology is giving too much credit for my work units. I'm getting 100 points for ever unit completed regardless of the claimed credit. Even where the quorum agrees around 30 points, I get 100. I'm turning in over twice the points I do on other projects for the same cpus. Nuts.

I have WUs awaiting validation since Nov. 09. Guess it makes up for waiting so long for the credit:icon_twisted:

It used to be a flat 50 and the avg tine per wu was 2 hours they made the wu's longer so now it's a flat 100. Like the man said shhhhhhhhh lol

I too gets 100 points even if claimed credit is 14,29. It seems as all WU’s gets 100 points and everyone as run Cosmo gets the same. It is strange and in their forum no one have complain about it.
Say team 1 has 10 members and 10 computers. Team 2 is similar. Both get 1000 points each. The space between them will always be constant. The space can only decrease if team 2 put in 2 more computers or members and claim 200 points more than team 1 or team 1 lose one member and team 2 is constant. That should give an advantage for team 2.

It cannot be fair if everyone gets 100 points. I think no other Boinc project has such system. We have experience from project as give us 2-4 points per finished WU.

We know also computers of AMD make often claim and earn more points than Intel.:icon_confused:

Crap, and here I wasted all my money on Intel's when I could have bought AMD's & got more Credit ... :sad5:

That might have been true until the Intel Core Duo came out but it's a different story now

Well you haven't been with the Project since it started Chris, there were periods of time when some of the Wu's didn't get any credit because of Valdator issues and times when Scott @ the Project just aborted a good many Wu's that were waiting for Validation or a Quorum to be reached.

Giving 100 Credits Per Wu right now is Scott's way of making up for some of the lost Credit because of Server Issues & or Scott's Abortion of Finished Wu's. I just go with the flow, there are several other BOINC Projects that give out an abnormally high amount of credit too so if the Cosmo Project wants to that's fine by me ... :)

Also don't forget there was a certain outspoken member S . . . . . . . d at Cosmo who said the credits should fall and Scott listened to that person to the detriment of the rest of us. This caused me to move my GHz elsewhere for a while in protest. :icon_twisted:

What do you guys say about this:

The 3 latest finished WU’s and claimed points between Intel Core 2 Duo and AMD64 running Cosmo.

AMD:
2188 Floating points (MIPS)
3882 Integer points (MIPS)
CPU-seconds = 15.269,11 Claimed 52.89 points
CPU-seconds = 14.890,67 Claimed 56.76 points
CPU-seconds = 17.586,14 Claimed 66.60 points
Total = 176.25

Intel:
2441 Floating points (MIPS)
5561 Integer points (MIPS)
CPU-seconds = 5.046,36 Claimed 23.06 Points
CPU-seconds = 10.732,63 Claimed 49.05 Points
CPU-seconds = 14.167,89 Claimed 64.76 Points
Total = 136.87

I think AMD claim more points than Intel irrespective of how fast or powerful they are. We can see Intel is faster than AMD but claim lesser points. AMD has a higher average. It seems as the faster computer the lesser points it claim and wise versa.

Now we are granted 100 points but if not AMD should earn more than Intel yet. Intel has a much higher Floating and Integer points but it seems be of no significance. However, my experience is when I run D20L and MoneyBee Intel is far better than AMD. It depends of whish project you run. I believe AMD claim higher points on most all Boinc-project.

Any as have another experience? :icon_wink:

The intels in the above example will be claiming less because they are quicker.

Quicker = less credit claimed
Quicker = more work done

More work + less credit = less work + more credit:icon_wink:

Damn, today I was thinking I should try to run Cosmo on my AMD Athlon. Started a new task and saw over 14 hours run time. Now after 1.5 hour over 50 % is done. I should have used this computer from the beginning.:icon_rolleyes:

Benchmark:
906 Floating points (MIPS)
1541 Integer points (MIPS)

I believed their WU’s should be too tough for this slow computer but I see I can use it yet. This computer has been running MoneyBee until now.:)
