My employer upgraded our 286’s to something a little more modern. I got a “Graphics Workstation” consisting of a Dell with an E6600 and 2 gigs of ram and more impressively, a Mac with 2 Xeon 5160’s running at 3ghz. So, in Ebay terms it’s a 12ghz computer!!. I also got a nice huge Dell monitor connected with a KVM switch. The bad part (and the part that is typical of my employer) is that no software will be purchased until mid-January 2008. So until then I was thinking of using them for BOINC. I can’t let nice computers like that just sit there dormant.
Right now I have them running milkyway@home and my question for you people is what project works best on a Mac? Does it even matter now that they have Intels?

I like http://www.malariacontrol.net/ and http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/

http://hydrogenathome.org/ and http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ are also possibilities on a mac.

Sorry, he can't. There are no Mac WUs for Cosmology yet ... but it is on the wish list - I've even bumped it.

The Dell isn't - and it could run Cosmo. He asked about project for the Mac, so I directed answers toward it.

We were both right - and wrong ... Sorry.

Looking at granted credits, I wouldn't go for rosetta on the mac, and have stopped it on mine.
