Mine's going straight to the bills. Debts get paid back, which helps the banks I guess.
Edit: Hmmm, $600 would be another nice quad-core setup. Must resist...

Does anyone else find it strange that people are so happy about a goverment that is giving back some of their money that it should never have had in the first place? Think about it; if there's some to give back why did they take it in the first place.

I agree. But $1200 back that I wasn't expecting really helps out alot.

Its difficult to comment on American domestic politics but as an observer from The West Island wouldn't it be better that the USD600 promised to each adult was put into providing national health care for the uninsured? Sort of a "safety net" program.

What! And quit paying our doctors and hospital CEO's like they are gods. LMAO Not to mention that quacks would have to quit running from state to state to keep killing people. They would just have to learn to flip burgers.

No the vast majority of them are very good. But, how long are we going to keep allowing the 3 to 4% that aren't keep skipping from state to state killing people? There has to be some sort of National regestration and control to weed out the Quacks.

I don't consider >$75,000/yr as rich, just not so poor - or as the locals like to call it; "upper no-class".

Well me and the wife sure as hell don't make $150,000 a year, so we will be getting $1200 back... It will be nice to have, cause we are going to have to pay on our taxes this year for the first time. :(

Thats a very good idea, but like all good ideas they are to simple and good for our politician to understand. Take a look at our great leader, he has bankrupt a number of companies, now he is working hard to bankrupt our economy and the world. He so bright that when he goes to the bathroom he needs the turban of one of his uncles to wipe his butt.
Sorry, I'm American but I'm ashame of our leaders. We have a vast population of very good people and a very small group of so call leaders who have hijack our country with our own permission, we as a whole are guilty allowing what has taken place in the last few years.
I'm a Vet (Vietnam) both from the Army and Navy, work all my life hard and sacrify my life and family to live the american dream, now my kids are suffering more than I did. Is a shame!

I think that in the tax matters I can count myself lucky! I have not paid Tax for 9 years!
The reason for this is as follows;
1) Most of my income comes from Tax free (VA) disability pension for wounds suffer while in combat.( Which is not count for Income)
2) Social Security(Disability SSI)
3) Federal ret. Income, which by US Gov. Rules I can't collect the full amount until I reach my 62nd birthday and which time I get 100% of my income and at which time then I will qualify to pay taxes, because at that time then my combine Fed pesion and SS will go over the $35t a year. At present I do a bit more than $70T a year but most of it is tax free.
I have my Health ins. from the federal gov for my family, my VA health care, and my SS medical Ins. which I cant use neither here in the Philippines were I'm living.
Have two houses in Florida which pay very little tax for the same reason as stated before as well as a house in Puerto Rico which also pay very little tax.
Lucky I have put 4 of my kids thru college and are done, have now 3 more on the way and I feel very lucky because on top of all, the gov will pay for their education all the way thru their Master degree if they take advantage of summer classes, and they do not have to get student loans, between their VA educational benefits and the Fed grants each of the 3 gets a bit over $1400 a month just to study. For that I'm greatfull and can't complain. I wish I would had the same opportunities the have, but that is why fathers most sacrify to raised our kids to a better world.
But with all my hard work, I could nbot help one of my kids from loosing his home just 3 weeks ago. I taught them that you need to work hard and solve your problems on your own, he just took it to literally and never ask for help nor gave a hint about his mortgage problems, so by the time I found out it was to late to do anything, he lost a $350t house. I had to vacate one of my houses to be able to give him shelter to him and my grandkids.
But all in all, I still feel lucky, I din't wrote the law and if that what the gov allow me to do, well heck I just take it, no shame on that.
