Which theme, and what extensions are you using? Oh, and how many tabs have you got open?

I have tweaked mine around a bit, have 4 tabs open and only manage to hit 90,000.
I wonder what drezha is up to?
I'm waiting for the answers to spikey_richie's questions.

I had 3 tabs open. Ogame, HSE website (Health and Safety Executive) and a Pool fire calculator. No flash based stuff.

I am using a theme. That one is Aero Fox.

Extensions...I have a few installed.
Greasemonkey, Foxgame, Foxmarks, FireFTP, Adblock Plus, Realplayer downloader.

Now with 3 tabs open (AMD Users x2 and Ogame), I'm at 163,000K. Latest FF2 version.

524,508K I only have 5 windows open and 15 tabs. I guess It may have a big website in there somewhere. I guess its a good idea to close things once in a while.

I believe like Spikey Richie states it is more in line with the virtual memory(VM) allocation. I for one run a normal 450k in my Firefox task manager situation.

I was using that amd mini city gizmo and it would run my virtual memory up to 800k if I used anything else plus that window. No longer running that gizmo for the mini city and my VM is now hovering at 162K. Different web sites need certain sizes of memory for complete operation. Seems AMD Users web site is a hog of memory... Just FYI ! :icon_rolleyes:

Just a note of context to keep in mind when reviewing those posts - That was in the much earlier versions back in 2006, as you will see by the dates on the posts. Some of those were addressed in FF2.

Personally, I'd challenge every one of those opinions against the completely re-written and optimised engine that Firefox 3 now sports.

Re: drezha's response

Latest FF2 version
Aero Fox not on FF3 yet - but soon.

Not using FF3 until it's got support for the addons I use.
