looking at SOB we are still going from strength to strength. current work rate 20m and yesterdays production being 1.72Terabytes !!!!!

this is great.
also we have a new member SB2 i dont think they signed up here yet but if they read this or are another member please post. anyway:
SB2 is pushing 1.5meg
DMMc 7.5meg (ish ranging from 4-9)
beerknurd 2.5
chaz and vaughan around 2-4meg.
aswell as the smaller members inc me, ototero, bwhite etc somewhere around 1 meg.

just want to keep everyone going and remind any users owning P4 or AMD64 to download the optimised versions.

Sb2 Joined in April and has been crunching away for us in
Dnet, Folding at Home and now in LHC and 17 or Bust.

Thanks for the contributions SB2 !

Have not run SOB in many, many moons, then not here. But seeing as how it is the team focus for the moment, and I wanted to have a go at the newest SSE2 optimisations (though the farm is down to only 1 P4), decided after the first day I would throw a few extra machines at the project until we catch up Team BeOS. (BTW, Team BeOS is my old SOB team)

AMDave

chuckle.

Since Stuart put up the stats page, my addiction to DC'ing has grown even further. Now I am looking across the team stats for projects that I have never run yet. Thats how I knew SB2'd been around for a little while.

On the flip-side this now makes my DC addiction so much more frustrating.
Sooo many projects.
Not enough CPUs.
I neeeeeed more CPUs.

SB2, it doesn't matter which team anyone came from, IMHO everyone is welcome at AMD Users.
Why even, look at Beerknurd, "our man on the outside", te he
(Sorry Beer, couldn't help it)
Even me, chugging along with the day-before-yesterday's technology.
We all make this team what it is by choosing to be here.
That makes it our team, and we are all welcome to it :D

Oh what a day it will be, when I finally get an AMD. I say we have a party....
I figure it will be a year or so..... But the day will come soon enough. And until that day comes, yall will just have to accept me for who I am...... :?

Thanks SB2.

I had TAstats page for D2OL but did not know they also posted for SoB.

Wow. I actually managed 71.7459 G on 1 day. Cool.

You got RISC chips in there ?

171 is not bad for me but not as good as Dmmc being 9th - that is sweet mate

I can get 1 client to run at 2M +. I wonder how fast I could get one done. Let's try it......

Started @ 6:42 AM on October 2nd. 1390 Blocks. 1 instance of SOB on 1 machine. I say I can finish it in 3 days......

I'll post the percentage complete through out the day.

DMMc
10-02-2004, 12:37 PM
Belive it or not the machine that finished the test is a laptop....'course it is a P4 3.2...But it is a laptop

This weekend going to be my last Big push at SoB for awhile. Will still run a few systems on it but nothing like I've been doing .

AMDave
10-02-2004, 12:56 PM
David.

That's some laptop !
The leg-up you've given us in SoB has taken us well on the way.
It is hugely appreciated.
You have a sweet spot in LHC to defend, I suppose that you'll be focussing them back to that proj.

Thanks for the Chugging-demo, my friend.
That takes a mastery of admin to switch that many cpus in and out.

AMDave.

DMMc
10-02-2004, 02:10 PM
OK...I'll Admit it...It's now a little more than chugging. :P

Will probably go back to a combo of LHC, CPN & SETI till we need a boost somewhere. If I could get the %@@!!*&@ scheduler to work right in BOINC so that systems would run after hours I could put alot more systems in it. Oh Well. That's low priority for the boy at Berkeley I'd guess. ;)

Beerknurd
10-02-2004, 07:18 PM
In 7 1/2 hours I have processed 232 blocks of 1390. That leaves 1158 to go. If you calculate that out..... I can finish a 1390 block test in about 2 days. Not too shabby. Especially since it's only 1 instance of SOB on 1 computer @ 2.1181 M.

Beerknurd
10-03-2004, 12:44 AM
13 hours.... 401 blocks done. 989 left. 29% done.

I just knocked up a script for it.

I posted my solution to a new BOINC thread:

I hope it works for you, tho.

I've only commandered 4 machines at work, after I discovered how to push SOB through the firewall.

With firepower like that we should think carefully where our next target should be.

t6hats gonna go down a bit ototero but form my old calculation if we keep up the old productrion we should do it in 2weeks.
atm they are doing 500G - ish a day but this will probably increase as we near.

I do not believe it will increase very much unless they get some new blood (doubtful), they no longer have thier biggest hitter, infact he has been absent for sometime now.

shame mine never seem to get massive boosts like you do tho lol.

i like the way that the stats update immediatly tho, more impressive than some projects which only update once a day or so. i cant be expected to wait that long ;P lol

will it be urs then or for someone else ?
where do you usually buy from ototero as we can compare prices - both being in Britain. i tend to get from www.microdirect.co.uk as it very cheap especially under the offers section.

you will be flying with that m8, your gonna take me pretty quick. i will seek revenge tho and force my dad to upgrade to at least an XP 3200 preferably AMD64 lol - he was interested in the 3800 but put off by the price tag lol.

we apprechiate your input to LP in SOB :thumbleft:
it has and will continue to be a great help to the project, in 10 days time when we have our rightful position, we will chose somehting else to run. your input will be listened to with more respect than if you had not helped us and stuck to running solely what you wanted :thumbleft:

vaughan
10-07-2004, 12:36 AM
Beerknurd: In Windows use Windows Explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files\UW Chemistry\Eon\Program then double left click on client.exe
A DOS box will open and eOn will start watch it run for a while (well ... a long while in Windows as it is much slower than Linux) you'll see how it progresses thru tasks. Not very imformative output but at least it gives some idea as compared to the eOn screensaver - it gives no progress feedback. Unfortunately you cannot cache tasks. eOn needs to be connected to the internet so is not very dial-up friendly.

Beerknurd
10-07-2004, 12:48 AM
That's what got me wondering... It sat at the beginning screen for a while and never did anything. I was like... "Screw this". Oh well it's not that important.

checking the stats we are still definatley on target for 9days -maybe 8 when people read this. take over due on the night of the 15th / morning of the 16th.
jeff i see you have picked up the pace, pulling away fomr DMMc, also Lp you are still steaming ahead. then we have vaughan and chaz pushing 300/400G a day. next down SB2, ototero and skuzz.
then we have people like me, dave etc pushing as much as we can from our small farm/ lonesome PC.
we are currently at 3 Tera a day so if we can keep this up we could do it within the time limit i set. :thumbleft:

keep it up guys. - my 3200+ is doing 521234 cem/s which is its best ever :S i havent done anything but dont wanna use it now while its a sucha quick rate - im not on my comp atm lol.
