I'm using my first Gigabyte MB for my 9550.

Now remember, I haven't done (or feel like right now) any indepth poking around yet.

The Nvidia chipset heatsink is REALLY HOT (60 C). I don't know why I checked it, but there you go.... Anyway, I had a small fan in the (what else?) Junk Drawer, So I threw that on, and got the temps down to 40-42 C.

And for the Million Dollar question...Is this normal?

I have a GA-M59SLI-S5 (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2302) which has a heat-pipe system. It does get hot, but nothing extraordinary.

I surfed a bit, and found a couple of references to hot Nvidia chipsets (~60 C or better) on a couple of differnet MB's. It does not seem to affect performance. I'll keep a fan on mine anyway...
