I found a really cool flash menu for my Premier Medical Group website for school.

I've found that its pretty useful, although I don't have any links up on it yet.

My problem is this -- the Flash menu loads extremely slowly in IE. Yet, it almost loads instantly in Firefox. Is there anything that can be done to decrease the load time.

Thanks

Jeff

If you are using IE7 for your test then this is not a surprise.
Slow rendering and poor Flash functioning is well reported in IE7.
IE 7.0.5730.13 still fails to render some of the simplest DIVs, superimposing consecutive text paragraphs on the same area of the page, etc.
(eg slashdot, yahoo, - you'd think that they'd fix it for those very popular sites, but ... well they are protagonists and competitors so what the hey!)

Comparing IE7 to FF3+ is simply leading to the obvious result - no contest.
FF3+ is the outright winner for general performance on equal terms

I can confirm on WinXP that the menu loads renders and transitions really fast in FF 3 beta 5
but it is a tradgedy in IE7

I'm sure there may be ways to speed it up in IE, but it is beyond my skill set for the time being.
Empty_5oul, NeoGen and Ototero may be able to give you some help with this.
Gd luck.

PS - Thought I'd try the alternative response, but found that I do not own a trench-coat. Lucky me!
